Never understood people heating on Naz. His only ever loss was to an ATG, who beat him 8-4 on points and at no point hurt Naz,in a fight where Naz wasnt 100%. He pretty much retired at 26. Its a pity as I dont think we ever got to see him at his peak.
Retired at 26. To think that he retired nowhere near the peak age of an athlete makes you wonder. Damn I miss the Prince.
Good fighter but if he really was a champion, after a loss he should have fought another 3-4 fights. Why retire after 1 loss? Actually fought Manuel Calvo after that but should have kept fighting.
Naz was overrated....period. When he finally fought an elite fighter he got his ass handed to him. Close thread
He was calling himself the most popular athlete in the world and better than Ali. If he had heart would of at least faced Morales, Marquez, and Pacman. Instead we have to settle to a russell brand + hobbit + taliban hybrid.
Naz was a bum and MAB showed him that! Because he's a bum is not because he couldn't fight it's because of his ring antics. Also his introduction / ringwalks are sick events in themselves. However he is a very nice person. But to me he'll always be a B+ fighter...
Here's Naz in a nutshell. A talented and athletically gifted fighter with poor techniques and was carried as far as he got by his unorthodox style, speed and power.
Naz had such a unique style and personality that will leave him in the sports history forever. The defence from body movement was insane The power was huge Barrera worked him out Like Marquez worked Pacquiao out Like Frazier worked Ali out
