After the Hatton fight he said "sorry but just doing my job" I think that at the end of the day Manny does not get joy out of KO'ing a guy,or feels remorseful.. Some say he pitied Margarito, some say he held back with Cotto in late rounds.. So did he lose his killer instinct, signs of slowing down, both etc.. just curious, because that one factor can lose a fight,I think when he had Bradley hurt he should have went in for the kill,he either didn't cause he couldn't,was gassed or just lost his killer instinct, which one is it?
His killer instinct doesn't mean much when he's not fighting the right guys. If you recall after the Cotto(e) fight, he laughed when Merchant remarked how he showed Cotto(e) no mercy. No one is going to knock out Joshua Clottey, so we can scratch that one off. The margo(e) fight was a bit strange. He went hard enough to give him a career killing injury but didn't try as hard towards the end. I think he realized he *does not* have enough power to outright stop margo(e), and was genuinely worried about making margo(e) into a vegetable if he went all out at the end. There's a difference between knocking someone out having them out for 5 mins and ruining their life. emmanuel thought he could have ruined margo(e)'s life. Super Shot Oldsley fight has an obvious answer. Wanting to be a killer means jack **** if you can't hit your target. After Shane pushed him to the canvas, he had a reactive burst trying to HURT Oldsley. There was nothing he could do in the Juan fight. Juan gave him a thorough boxing lesson from rounds 2-10 displaying some of the most beautiful technique. Timmeh used whatever Slick Blackness he has to protect himself.
:deal Exactly put him in with a ****** like Ortiz or someone slow & limited like maidana and he will look like the dominant Pac HBO portrays but against a well rounded technical fighter his limitations are exposed. Roach & Arum tried to get his feet wet against slick blackness with Bradley and he couldn't swim. Mayweather would drown his ass. :yep
i don't know about killer instinct, more like he lost (or more aptly, discarded) his recklessness of his older days, a double edged sword. He's been playing counterpuncher here and there since he got up to WW, and while proficient, he's not great at it like someone such as Juan or Floyd "we're going to counter-punch the counterpuncher" sure Freddy
He hasn't lost any killer anything. He just ran into a guy he couldn't hit! Great defensive fighters give Manny problems. Or even if you have decent footwork.. Bradley could stand right in front of Manny and didn't get hit. Credit Bradley!
No, Pac can't adjust to this stage of his career. Bhop did it, Floyd's doing it, and PAC can't, due to his limited boxing ability/knowledge, and ring generalship qualities. He doesn't know how to properly steal rounds, and how to waste time in ring with clinching, resetting, and movement. If he continues to try to fight boxers, these things will become more a more apparent. Aside from a punchers chance no way in hell is he beating Floyd at this stage in their careers.
I think he has. He just doesn't seem like his heart is fully in boxing anymore with all the stuff he is doing outside of boxing.
people just sound ******ed with the whole "Bradley whooped him" and "slick blackness of Bradley" ****.
