How bad was Hattons chin?

As he went up in weight, his chin and ability to take big shots got worse. At 140, good chin. As he went up, worse as his career went on. Hatton was at his best at 140, but can't blame him for taking the biggest fights at 147.

 

Hatton had a good beard....7/10 imo. punch resistance can be greatly decreased after being brutally KO'd (see hatton vs turnbuckle). With Hattons style of fighting where eating punches is your main line of defense you cannot succeed even at the domestic level with a poor chin.

 

I dont think its better than Ortiz, no way Hatton wouldve survived that right hand Ortiz got hit with by berto in their first fight.

His chin was just fine until late in his career. He took bombs from some big punchers and never wobbled. First time I can remember seeing him actually hurt was the Collazo fight, and at that point, all the yoyoing in weight was starting to take its toll.

 

Total Glass. He had a lot of hometown fight with British referees to let him do as he wanted and to give him long counts and tell him to tie his shoes when he was about to be KOed. Hatton has no Chin. None.

 

Tender and a little bland, nothing a dash of salt couldn't fix.

 

He fought in the States 6 Times, the two only knock outs he suffered all of his career, his only two losses, were to two of the greatest fighters to ever enter the ring.

P.S Interesting fact: David Haye has won more titles (ABC + Ring) then any Polish fighter. Ever.

 

He wasn't way past his best lol... he was just overmatched. He wouldn't have beaten an old KT without plenty of help from the ref. Hatton was a good entertaining fighter, on the Gatti level, maybe a half step above that.
