    I'm not surprised that GBP want to make this fight. It lets Canelo pick up a strap without actually stepping up the level of competition. I was hoping for Lara but I was never unrealistic enough to to think it'd actually happen.

    Hopefully when Kirkland recovers from his injury, we'll see that fight.

    Cummon give K9 a break...yeh he doesn't hav a nice style and he is crude as hell but he is one of the few gentleman of the sport and @ almost 40 he deserves abit of respect and a nice payday...

    Canelo deserves it, not like he hadn't tried to make tough our meaningful fights.. They just keep falling apart for him... He gets to grab another belt and see who pops up on the radar in between... Easy target practice, hopefully K9 doesn't commit to a full on grappling contest once Canelo starts battering him..

    I recall him from The Contender - which was a more intimate glimpse than most of us get at most boxers' actual personalities, outside a 24/7 or FC360 (which no Contender-level fighter will ever appear on) - being a dumb, trash-talking bully...who talked a big game against the smaller Walter Wright only to stink up the joint in their quarterfinal match...where K9 ran, clinched, and intentionally butted his way to a decision that most who've seen the entire 5 rounds have deemed a screwjob.

    And the barking...real classy. :roll:

    To say nothing of the victory interview this past weekend. "You gotta give Spinks credit, he was in there with a monster, a great fighter. :D" Gloating and third-person self referencing? Wow, it's a douchebag double-whammy.

    I really hope this fight doesn't happen. Nothing good can come out of it really. If I was GB I wouldn't put my star in with a club brawler who is a rough fighter and dirty, adding extra risk to a bad cut or something that will keep him out of action for a while.

    I know the pool is about empty for an opponent for Canelo, but at this point I'd be fine with Molina or Lara instead. Somebody that he can actually learn and improve from in the pro ring. He doesn't really need to be in a street fight at this point, that won't help him improve his skills for a possilbe Cotto fight down the road at all.

    Alvarez vs. Quintana isn't official yet, but seems to be where the tide is turning.

    I expect that poll to be MUCH closer than this, yet still one-sided. :yep
