Why are you laughing like a ******?

There have been 5 southpaw world heavyweight champs in boxing history.

    Chris Byrd
    Corrie Sanders
    Ruslan Chagaev
    Sultan Ibragimov
    Michael Moorer

Even with the lax qualifications on being in the Boxing Hall of Fame I don't think Byrd goes in.

No way. He's got a good career, but not a HOF career.

    From Calzaghe's bio.

    Amateur

Calzaghe, a southpaw, began boxing at age nine. In more than 12 amateur contests, he won four schoolboy ABA titles, followed by three consecutive senior British ABA titles (British Championships) between 1991 and 1993. This made him only the second boxer in history to win in welter, light-middleweight and middleweight divisions.

He reportedly had an amateur record of 110–10. Calzaghe received his last defeats at the hands of Michael Smyth in the 1990 Welsh ABA final and Romanian amateur Adrian Opreda at the 1990 European Junior Championships in Prague.

Marcus "Too Sharp" Johnson made it in the HOF, so why not Byrd?

Johnson was a much better fighter.

Byrd was on the same level as Jimmy Young, and I can't see Young being inducted any time soon.

His losses to Ibeabuchi and Wlad were decisive, some of his decision wins were razor close, and his best win on paper (Vitali) obviously has an asterisk attached. He had good wins over Tua and a faded Holyfield, but it isn't a HOF resume.

It was admirable the way that Byrd was able to compete with much bigger fighters, but he was in no way, shape or form a great heavyweight.

No chance, but the guy was definitely talented and had a decent enough career. No way good enough for Canastota though.
