Can't wait for this fight! A real crucial HW fight between blue chipper Absusalamov, and former undefeated, and only once defeated (by Bryant Jennings) prospect Maurice Byarm. . .

I love this fight. . . This is such a HUUUGGGEE step up for MY BOY Abdusalamov. .

Find out if he's the real dizzeal or not!

I like Mago but I pick Byarm by mid rounds KO.
Byarm is the better boxer and has some power.

I think this is a matchup of a pure boxer-boxer/puncher, and a "technical" puncher. Abdusalamov is not some crude brawler; he times, and places his shots with surgical precision. . And he has concussive one shot power.

I don't think Byarm has the boxing skills, or the power to hold Big Mago off for 10 rounds . . . Mago 5th round KO.

IF it goes to the cards, Byarm will win 3 rounds or so. . .

Abdusalamov is a far more accurate puncher than many give him credit for. I am glad someone above noticed. Although I would say surgical percision is a bit much.

That Dracula cape he wears is also something different.

Abdusalamov trains about 30 miles from me. Always wanted to check him out in person but I am sure it would be by invatation only and I am a grappler not a boxer so they would no doubt tell to get lost.

It certainly is a cool name, sounds like a bad guy from the X men or something but I tend to think Mago is a crude brawler. He has little defense,he is often off balance. That last guy he fought on FNF rocked him in round one too.
I think Mago could beat quite a few top ten guys right now (Boytsov,Povetkin) but I think for this moment in time,Byarm will win by a TKO inside of 7.
Either way, whoever wins is an official contender in my mind. Borderline contender but contender none the less and should be getting big fights soon after. Maybe the winner fights Shane Cameron or something like that.

Nice! Definitely will now be following him as well. . .

Yeah, I was going overboard with the surgical precision :D Haha that term is reserved for guys like Marquez, and Mayweather. . .

But he's what I call a "technical puncher," kind of similar to a Denis Lebedev, or a less-active, and more patient Lucas Matthysse.

    Haha yessir.

I don't think he was ever really rocked. . He was just feeling the guy out, seeing what type of power he had. . Basically just moving around with his high guard up. . .

Then in round 2, as soon as he started placing his shots, and picking them with discretion, but brutality, he stopped the guy. . . Although that fat Cuban was a D level guy. . MAgomed has never fought anything more than a C, C- level opponent. . And Byarm is a solid B level type guy.

Byarm lost to Bryant Jennings, whom I rate rather high; it was a fairly close fight, but I thought Jennings very clearly won.

Abdusalamov is a much different style than the high-paced, true outfighter with quick feet, and very quick hands in Jennings (but not much power at all).

I think he's much more than a crude brawler, but a lot of this is pure speculation, of course, since he hasn't fought anybody decent yet. He is rather plodding in his foot work, but his balance seems fine. He is very patient, and will set up shots with moving his head, and circling looking for angles (although he does so in a flat-footed manner). . . He doesn't have much of a jab (just like a lot of technical punchers), but he can use his straight right as an effective measuring stick for range, and distance. He will lose the first 1-2 rounds, but then once he has Byarm timed, and figured out, he'll gradually open up more, and once Byarm feels his power, he'll be gun-shy. . Byarm MIGHT be able to survive all ten rounds, and lose 97-93, maybe 96-94 type decision (but my first pick is mid rounds KO).

I'd compare Abdusalamov's style to Denis Lebedev, or a less active Lucas Matthysse. . . ANd yup, whoever wins this fight def. transitions them to "proven prospect," or "fringe contender." Mago still only has like 10 fights, remember! Same with Byarm, he's got like 13 fights I believe. But they are definitely "proven" on the "B-level" alongside guys like Fury, and Price. Shane Cameron would be an EXCELLENT next fight for the winner!

Abdulsalamov wins easily. World ranked amateurs from the Soviet system beat converted football players who stumbled into a gym three years ago 9/10 times.

Magomed didn't start boxing until his mis 20's

Lebedev and Matthysse are both much more skilled boxers than Magomed.

Here is Abdusalamov's cousin Medzhidov stopping Savon (Felix's nephew) at the 2011 Worlds. He's got the same ungodly power but is a better technical boxer.

I know, I was simply drawing a parallel to the style, and approach he utilizes; not really saying he is as good when using the style. . .

Looks like Mago has the boxing pedigree, and blood line for sure!
