Certain fighters had attributes and skillsets that influenced other fighters: from SRR to Ali to SRL to RJJ.

What other fighters have basically set the template that other fighters copy from?

Just from the top of my head:

    Joe Louis
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Muhammad Ali
    Julio Cesar Chavez Sr
Not absolutely sure but I believe the shoulder roll style originated with George Benton, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Charley Burley was great at the shoulder defense. Great video here

and i think the most imitated fighter is Floyd. Im so sick of hearing everyone say "hard work, dedication" haha

Works fine for me. Yeah, Burley was probably studied by many boxers as well.

    SRR.

No you are wrong, back in the day Dundee (RIP), had a Welterweight Champion named Luis M. Rodriguez, him was the guy that Ali base his style.

    Thats interesting!

From what I've seen of his Olympic bouts, he looked like he had the style early on, before he went with Dundee.

In the 1970s film AKA Cassius Clay, Ali says he wanted to emulate SRR.

    Ali.

Many greats start off emulating prior greats anyway though.

Sergio Martinez coppied Ali's style by letting his hands down while he's stepping backward.

In the UK, I reckon Herol Graham is the most imitated: all those Ingle fighters with the same loose, hands-low style (Hamed, Kell Brook, Kid Galahad - even heavy's like Towers box in a recognizably Ingle way). Maybe Ingle trained other boxers with the same style before Graham, but he was the first to attract serious notice - I remember kids in the playground imitating him and then Hamed.
