Larry Holmes an under appreciated Legend and Gentleman .

It is interesting how all of his anti-white comments never get held against him. But if either Klitschko ever so much as cut of a Black guy in traffic we would never hear the end of it.

The way they call the Klitschko's NAZI's even though they have done more for impoverished ethnic communitites via UNESCO than any athlete of color I can recall.

 

True their both super athetic guys and they have alot of power but the glass jaw thing to me is vastly overrated. the fact is if you look throught out boxing history ever great hw exact maybe ali have either been knockout several times or been on the floor. when a big man who been train to fight hits someone square on the chin thats a tough thing to walk throught. Lennox been ko'ed, Louis a couple times and been down several more, tyson, holmes, etc so the weak chin thing for a heavyweight doesnt really hold up

 

Ease up. At least your opinion of Tyson as a fighter has changed drastically since coming on here. I just kept responding and responding to your shots at him with easily laid out facts. Sure enough, you actually think he's alright now. :yep

Excellent post Dorfmeister.I just can't buy into this "Larry's was a **** era" stuff.It was 100x stronger than today's.
BTW the first fight with Spinks was the first fight I was old enough to think that the wrong guy got the nod,but the 2nd was worse.

Larry Holmes was a great hw champion no doubt but we was an ******* and iam sorry the early 80's era was terriable as is this era today in fact the only really good and i mean truly good era was the late 60's, the goldne age of the 70's which Larry was apart of and the 90's the other era's just werent that strong top to bottom
