Tell me you saw his last TWO fights on ESPN Friday Night Fights?!? This Kid Is going to RUN through the featherweight division:bbb:bbb
yo man this kid is RUNNING through the featherweight division. just hope he develops at the right pace
My fear is that with him just overwhelming his earlier opponents, he won't develop properly. Usually a tough fight here or there early helps in this case.
Never saw him before tonight. Man, does he have fast hands! Faster, I think, than Gary Russell Jr. - And obvious power. The one thing that bothers me, based on just this fight, is that he has a disturbing tendency to throw his left hook wide, (on purpose?) catch his opponent behind the head, and then illegally hit while holding. If he continues to do that, I'll have a big problem with him. If it was a one-fight thing due to his opponent's baroque style, then cool, since the guy has massive skills.
That was a lovely knockout. There are so many decent up and coming fighters in the lower weight classes it's great.
I been telling everybody he's gonna be a future star and he has had a late ko before also,he reminds me of a featherweight martinez, because of his awkwardness, very fast and power in both hands.I think even the top guys in the featherweight division will see him as a dangerous opponent.
unlike most up and comers who step up comp with contenders, then former champs...who basically just get a boring win and get the job done.....this dude is destroying each guy he steps up to .... he will be fun to keep an eye on
Yea,you can tell he has no fear and the guys in featherweight and super-featherweight better watch out, most of these new prospects are trying to land 1 perfect shot, but fortuna is a devastating combination puncher,i can't see too many guys standing up to his fire-power.
I've only seen his fight last night and he did run through Cruz with ease. However, it was not that big of an accomplishment with Cruz being on the tail end of his career and leaving himself wide open for the shots he took. The kid does have great hand speed and looks to pack a hard punch for his size. Let's see how he does against someone who will push him deep into the later rounds. At one time I thought Francisco Bajado was the next big thing, but a couple losses and he faded away to nowhere.
I really thought Cruz would test him but boy I was wrong! I respect the fact that he stepped in late against Cruz. That means he was already in training even though he had no fight lined up. That's a man on a mission right there! Hope he will get to the top. The journey to go there will be fun as hell.
Many talk about russell jr,but atleast fortuna steps up his competition every fight and he's willing to fight anybody.I would like to see russell jr fight him.
Good power and speed, great confidence on the kid and as always a southpaw fighter is a difficult fighter however theres this one thing he does to work to his advantage that people can take advantage of, He steps in with his left leg almost going orthodox and puts himself off balance, he needs to learn how to use his stance to an advantage and step out to an angle forcing his opponent back and cutting off the ring Still early yet but hes definitely talented. best of luck to him
