I don't really think Johnny Nelson is biased, towards black fighters........just because their black. I think he is biased towards good athlete's, in terms of co-ordination, flare, skill, speed, power.........and allot of black fighters most of the time if they are good............"Always fit this description"

For example, no black fighters has really made himself famous by fighting like a complete ******.

    Like........"John Murray"

80% of the time if a black fighter is good, they fit that description up above.

Boxing doesn't really attract talented black fighters anymore ether.

    "For example"

James Degale is just above average in terms of athletic ability/athleticism. And people speak of him somtimes, like he's some sort of physical phenomenon. But the truth is..? he's not, its just that in this country boxing is made up of mediocre athlete's.

Because boxing does not attract kids in masses, like it used to do in the 60's,70's, 80's, 90's. Because it is no longer a culture as a sport, and because at grass-roots level sports like MMA are taking over.

This gives a chance for mediocre athletics like James Degale, and George Groves to have success in boxing.

I don't speak of athlete's in boxing on the same level as athlete's in other sports. In terms of pure athletic ability. Because i think these days, boxing has no real good athlete's.............."I'm not questioning, there heart or work ethic".........but the fact is, there are very few good athlete's in boxing.

    Like the Roy Jones.

    Like the Mike Tyson's.

    Like the Sugar Ray Leonards.

There are no physical phenomenon's around like George Foreman, Lennox Lewis.

In terms of pure raw strength.

Boxing these days is full of mediocre people who have dedicated to boxing. While the real talented athlete's have chosen other sports, or better yet focused or carried on with their education.

People moan that the standard in boxing is ****, and especially in the heavyweight division, people moan that there fat, or slow, or cannot throw bundles of punches.

Its because these fighters around these days are mediocre, averagely talented athlete's, that have taken advantage of the loop hole in the sport this past decade.

    "Its not their fault"

In the entire sport, there's about 3-4 boxers who i would take my hat off to. And say..

    "They are good athlete's"

David Haye, Wladimir Kiltschko, Vitaili Kiltschko, Manny Pac, Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan.

Notice how almost all these fighters, there comes in point. Where there ether to big and fast for the oponents, ether too fast to co-ordinated motor skills, have too much endurance, or just too powefull.

These are all attributes of good athlete's.

Might i just say that the Welterweight Division of today, is probably the last of the great competitive divisions with talented fighters, boxing will ever have!!!!! These are the end days of our sport

Its laughable, that Bernard Hopkins at 46 years of age, who cannot work at a decent rate, can compete with these top fighters today.

Teddy Atlas is kind of on the same page of what I'm saying.........beside Bernard Hopkins age, when you take all of that away. And break down his performances from a technical point of view..? He's doing nothing special.

    He's not lightening fast..

    He's stamina is nothing special..

But Motorskills, Co-ordination, body athletic co-ordination. Which is a athletic skill, is by far better than most of these young guys today. Yet again, nothing special..........but better than these really averagely talented athlete's. He's just taking advantage of what's not there.........

Thats why i don't think any fighters today outside of the Welterweight Division "I don't pay attention to anything below 140", can be rated up against the fighters from the past great decades like the 70's, 80's, 90's. Because the standard, from a technical and athletic point of view has dropped dramatically.

In some sports the clock is there, to show how the standard in the sport is improving. Yes athlete's have better nutrition and supplementations, and training.......but still the "clock does not lie in track and field athletics, or swimming etc".

Boxing has gone backwards, due to it becoming more unpopular. And due to other sports also being lucrative these days, for a very long time. Boxing was the other sport in which you could really make big money from.......

Long before footy players where making Millions, boxers where doing just that.

Boxing in my opinion is finished, you might get the odd decent fighter. But on the whole, no more great great era's...........especially in the heavyweight division.

Ive not noticed him being biased. He is normally pretty fair.He has never really pissed me off as a pundit. He did as a fighter many times but I still think he is OK.

The implication here is that he is anti white more than he is pro black :?

Someone should tell Watt and Mcguigan they could be in danger.

He tends to go for the boxer who reminds him of himself I reckon.

That's not a racial thing I think, Jim Watt does as well and has a fit is any British fighter doesn't lead with his face or picks his punches (see Haye v Valuev, Froch v Johnson) and I imagine other ex-fighters are similar as are other sports pundits (exhibit A 'Sir' Geoff Boycott)

I agree 70% of this post now, because their are allot of black ******ed fighters.

"And George Groves is a better fighter and athlete than James Degale by far"

I still cannot stand James Degale.

Also Bernard Hopkins humbled me vs Chad Dawson, i thought he was a dead man up against pissed off and motivated Chad Dawson.

He did well to make the fight competitive, and last the 12 rounds, during their rematch.
