He probably came to camp at 245. I'm sure its the strategy, knowing Thompson would be around 250. Steward always wants Wlad pushing his weight on opponents in the clinch. Last time Wlad was outweighed by Thompson, maybe in their eyes that made the fight more difficult. Who knows? But what I would say is that how professional Wlad takes his camps, and how hard he works, this is a planned move, and he's right in the range he always is.

On the other hand if he gets clobbered there's already a built in ESB excuse. He was fat and out of shape.

He's looking good imo. Any version of Wladimir beats Thompson anyway.

 

thompson isn't exactly speedy gonzales who is going to run like Haye which means more clinching so extra weight plays in wlads favor.

Exactly. Wladimir GAINS weight during camp guys....and of course depending on who he is fighting, the strategy will be a bit different in terms of what he wants to weigh.

11-years ago, Wlad weighed in at 246lbs against Derrick Jefferson.
Yesterday, he weighed in at 249lbs...which if you take into account
what he may or may not have had to eat/drink before both weigh-ins,
it's possible he could weigh almost exactly the same, or at least within 1lb,
of his weight 11-years ago!

Obviously Wladimir is in top form guys...come on...silly for anyone to think otherwise.
