    Merchant has always respected Mayweather's abilities in the ring. He just doesn't care for his behaviour.

    I think he was particularly respectful on that occasion, however, because he seemed to really dislike Judah. (So it became a case of Mayweather becoming the lesser of the two evils.) Whenever I watch that fight I always notice Merchant downplaying anything Judah does and commenting on his antics in quite a disdainful tone.
