The pros would be easier digestion, plenty of low GI carbs for continuous energy and stable blood sugar levels, extra vitamins and minerals to support the body during stress and no saturated fats. The cons.... You have to look at what plant foods compliment each other in terms of amino acids so you can make up a complete source of protein and getting omega 3 fats can be a little bit difficult. There is flaxeed oil and the like but it's not as easily absorbed as from fish. It would be great if more people followed a diet like this but most people are obsessed with how much protein they are getting even though it isn't that important. A diet like this but with some fatty fish eaten aswell is basically a perfect diet in my opinion.
It is a quite clean way to eat, Carl Lewis was also a Vegan. Possible the greatest track and feild athlete of all-time, no sorry let me rephrase that......."The Greatest Track and Feild athlete of all-time Nuts, Lentals are all ways you can get protien from a vegan diet. I'm not going to turn vegan but, i'm just saying. WOOOOOOOOO! YEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I've thought for a while now that the Gandhi diet, if you added some chicken and fish, is about the best one out there. If only I had the motivation to follow it myself. 1 litre of cow or goat milk 170 g cereals 85 g leafy vegetables 140 g other vegetables 30 g raw vegetables 40 g ghee 60 g butter and 40 g jaggery or sugar fruits according to one's taste and purse 2 sour limes (juice taken with vegetables or in water, cold or hot) salt according to taste Plus some meat like I said.
