 @ Donaire and Kellerman arguing over whether it takes collecting three belts or all four of the major sanctioning bodies to count as being undisputed/unified champion.

Scores were too wide but Donaire won comfortably. Mathebula was a stylistic and physical nightmare and Donaire still dropped him and broke his jaw. Rigondeaux-Cordoba was closer than this fight.

 come on bruv - Mathebula is not THAT bad! He's one of those slow, and uncoordinated guys, who has deceivingly good timing. . . and is just so awkward. . . He has an excellent heart, and will to win. . . Not many boxers would have kept pressing the fight with such high work rates after kissing the canvas, and tasting Donaire's power.

While I agree you couldn't really give Mathebula more than 4 rounds, he made Donaire eat more clean shots than he's ate before in his career. . .

It's just Donaire's physical attributes (speed, explosive power, reflexes), and ability to read and react (ring IQ) are TRULY world class shiznit. . .

116-111 is the best you could have for Donaire.

    This wasn't an amateur bout.

    Quality matters.

Donaire SUCKED, admittedly. Very low workrate, and inexplicable strategy with just lunging in with the odd power shot. But the shots he DID land were much cleaner and harder than the slaps of Mathebula. :good

Donaire's trying too hard to crawl out of Pacquiao's shadow. He's OBSESSED with the highlight reel, one punch KO. He thinks every fight should win a la Montiel/Darchinyan. If he didn't look for the KO so hard, he'd get it more.
