I have been a big critic of Fury. Until last night I thought he really would never amount to much beyond domestic level apart from a fortunate victory over a rusty and fat Chisora. I still doubt he will ever win a title but he looked better than he has ever done before.

He showed better technique and composure. He was less wild and while there were a few clumsy moments he showed better balance. He was patient and gradually broke Maddalone down behind his jab. He was also in good condition, he's definitely improving.

But he was facing a fighter who was C level at best in his prime and Maddalone is way past his best now at 38. Basically he was facing a slow plodding punch bag. Maddalone was so slow it would take him a week to get from one side of the ring to the other, no way he was ever getting past that jab, babies crawl faster than he can move in a ring.

Fury needs to step it up and step it up soon, he's already ducked Price, if he is to really progress and deflect some of the criticism he's received, he needs to fight an opponent who is half decent.

that was an example of him saying price hasnt done anything to warrant a fight with him... also its simply a risk to reward thing

i was most impressed with his physical condition. His muscle definition is there now and hes starting to look like an actual athlete , not a guiness drinking , bare knuckle fighting , fat pikey. He must be training hard cause its difficult for a genetically fat man to change his physique like hw has. And the fitter he is , the faster , stronger and more powerfull he will be. Onward and upwards.

I think he is one of the best talents in the divison. People think he is slow and clumsy, but he is also 6 foot 9 with an 85 inch reach, with endurance and a fighting spirit.

He avoided David Price like a plague, gave up his British/Commonwealth belts to fight for the Irish belt?! He should clean up domestically before he starts calling out K2.

He knows how to use his height very well. He can get his shots on while his opponents struggle to get in range. I suppose his size advantages makes him hard to beat for shorter heavyweights.
