    Just found this on boxerec

"Curtis Valentine’s tear up with Ryan Aston for the vacant Midlands Area middleweight title probably won’t win any prizes for aesthetics, but the ten-round contest was a crowd pleaser while it lasted. Valentine (11st 5lb 6oz) has a reputation for being a bit of a puncher and the previously unbeaten Aston (11st 5lb 6oz) just couldn’t deal with the Nottingham man’s frenzied attacks. ‘Tank’ Aston, a sparring partner for Carl Froch before his fight with Lucian Bute, has three knockouts himself and connected with a couple of beauties in the first round.
Valentine only had one thing on his mind though, and floored his opponent after a flurry of vicious punches in close. Aston got up for the eight count and back into his corner, but the second round soon turned into a slugfest from which there was only going to be one winner. With Aston in real trouble on the ropes, his corner threw in the towel after 1:05 in a fight that probably should have been stopped earlier. Michael Alexander refereed."

Never expected that, seen and heard lots of good things about Aston, very worrying that he gets stopped in two rounds in just his 7th fight

Eddie Hearn was keen to put Aston in with Chris Eubank Jr.

Sounds like he went to war and came off 2nd best, he will learn from it I think, still think he would beat Eubank Jr. tho.

Yeah, I heard great things about Aston too and he was progressing well until he met Valentine. Can't say much more until I see a video (if there is one?) but hopefully he can rematch him next and put things straight.

He is young and hopefully it doesn't affect him too much. However retiring is basically quitting, which no boxer wants on their record.

Nick Blackwell took an opportunity to fight Martin Murray and although he wasn't getting completely battered, his team pulled him out to save any further damage.

    But Valentine isn't Martin Murray...

The corner pulled him out. Paul Gough (trainer) has been with him since he started boxing and still coaches at Priory Park ABC, so he must of really have thought it was for his saftey, hes young enough to come back from the loss tho.

He got totally spanked. Down twice heavily and shouldn't have been allowed to continue after the first knockdown in the first round.

Great to watch, but very poor quality.
