The 80's was considered 'crap' relative to the fact that the 70s was so damn good. A Part time Boxer who was a full time Golfer would not be Heavyweight Champion in any other modern day era.

The 80s itself WAS weak, But no way would the likes of 38 year old Shot Jean Marc Mormeck be getting a shot in the 80s OR 90s. Nor would the likes of Manuel Charr, and any weak opponent that you are going to counter with, there will be stronger opponents to off-set that argument of yours.

The 90s had the likes of Holyfield, (Albeit past his best) Tyson, Lewis, Tua, Bruno (who would've provided a challenge to most boxers - He might not be an ATG, but he was a good, and strong fighter).

But Post Lewis era 2005, who has this Division had?

Infact, I'd say Bruno would clear out the entire Heavyweight Division Post Lewis barring the Klitschko's.

It's not Wlad's fault the Division is so **** - But it's too early to be calling him one of the greatest of all time etc..etc...

I'll only rank him as an ATG IF he continues to reign supreme clearing out the next group of contenders {Price, Fury, Mitchell, Wilder (If he ever steps up) etc}.

Wlad is no doubt a great fighter, but stop justifying the state of the Heavyweight Division. It's borderline pathetic. Thankfully for Wlad's legacy, there are good Heavyweights coming through, that'll allow us to truly rank his achievements.

But until then, Wlad fans can't keep rating Wlad as though he's one of the greatest of all time - he hasen't done anything to prove that other than beating the bums put in front of him, and reigning for so long.

Granted, he can only beat what's available - And that's not Wlad's fault; That's why it is how he deals with the challenge posed by the new generation, that will determine where he truly ranks.
