he's got a good chin. he took young's punches well, fatigue was a bigger problem. i think the body shots did more damage than the head punches.

froch has been down multiple times, mayweather has never been decked if it remember correctly, despite fighting some of the hardest-hitting fighters at his weight(s) - corrales, jmm, dlh etc.

Froch has only been put down once in either the pros or the amateurs - to Jermain Taylor.

Hard to say. The quality of Carson's punches were hardly world class. His attacks were really slow and predictable. He also targeted and had success mainly at Kell's body. I remember there being only a few head-shots that wooed me.

And with those head-shots, the most revealing thing at the moment we can take is the fact that he really dislikes being hit. There were quite a few moments where he had Jones hurt and was laying the leather, but as soon as he caught a punch himself, he would immediately abandon everything and get out. Could that just be because he's an ultra cautious fighter? Maybe. Or could it be because he can be hurt pretty easily and needs to retreat? It's possible.

Put it this way, if that was Berto or Ortiz laying that beat-down on him, that chin wouldn't have survived and none of us would be here praising it.

Maybe Mayweather hasn't been down, but he clung on for dear life when Mosley caught him flush! Shame Mosley couldn't finish it.

What is this? Pick on Brook's boxing ability, and lessen his victory even more. He had a broken nose for nearly half the fight, he took some decent shots, both body and head, and yet he stayed in there and battled on. Yet all I hear is people disregarding his performance and trying to put him down.

I can't give a full rating, because Carson Jones is just an average puncher. . . And Brook displayed better defense than I thought, or at least survival defensive tactics - rolling with a lot of punches, etc. . . He really didn't eat as many clean shots directly on the chin as it may have initially appeared. . .

BUT, he did eat some good, clean, hard power shots. . . From a B- level boxer, with C+, B- power. . .

So. . I give his chin a B/B- as of now. We know at the very least, he has a "good" chin. . . very decent. . . and much above average.

Ortiz wouldn't last that long, he'd quit by round 5 at the latest.

Berto wouldn't get the fight as he would test positive for steroids.
