Not a robbery but this judges scorecard "Judge Deon Dwarte 119-108" was atrocious to say the least. That said, Donaire put on a horrible boxing performance. He was lucky it was Mathebula in the ring.

You know i remembered asking these kind of question in Mayweather-De la Hoya fight, I thought De La Hoya won the fight. Then , after a week , one of the Judges was interviewed, it was Chuck Giampa. He said two words that stuck on my mind, of why he give the fight to Mayweather.

Those two words were --- " effective aggression".

Same here in this fight, and in Pacman-Bradley match, you can clearly see effective aggresion, so much so, that the result of the fight is a foregone conclusion.

He has a point. Mathebula should've got the decision. People lie but numbers dont!

Donaire clearly won that fight IMO. It was competitive but Donaire landed the much cleaner shots, harder shots and scored that impressive knock down.

The jab part can't be right. Donaire didn't throw 297 jabs and there is no way he outjabbed Mathebula especially by over 160.

Fights are scored by rounds, not punch volume. Donaire deserved the nod by maybe a point or two. The unfair scoring is just something we need to get used to. Consider it as meaningless as the many bull**** belts out there, and enjoy the fight.

So whats different here? ohhh wait a second, Donaire is Filipino, So be honest larry whats this thread really about?:think

    Oh, okay.

So when compubox indicates Manny landed more punches than his opponent, it's a clear indication he won the fight.

But when compubox indicates Donaire's opponent landed more punches than him, it's no indication that Donaire lost the fight.

    Right.

So what's the difference here? Oh, wait. Donaire and Manny; they're both Filo, and their opponents were black.

    And what are you?

    Oh.

Donaire dominated, outgunned, and even knocked down Mathebula. In Nonito's case he was even the aggressor. At the end of the fight, tho, I was holding my breath because a fighter that was all those things Mathebula was and seemed to be fighting scared can always still be in the fight and land a what seems like a meaningless pitty pat here, another one there, but they are still LANDING. I don't care about cleaner shots not every fighter is a powerpuncher. But that IMO boxing will always be a grey area on this subject you have Chavez Jr getting outlanded by Zbik yet wins a decision samething in Mayweather-Castillo I. If it was the other way around I think if you really think about it it really has to do with favoring the more popular fighters in close fights. The Donaire-Mathebula fight tho wasn't a back and forth fight and compubox is just as flawed as the judges sometimes. Maybe we need sensors on the gloves that record a degree of impact. Sure it might get the arms and gloves it won't be without it's flaws either, but at least it will improve scoring.

Sorry but Donaire looked clumsy in that fight. He fights that way against Gamboa or Salido then expect a loss.:bbb

Styles make fights my friend, you can't make blanket statements like that and have facts to back them up. I think he cause big problems for someone like Salido because of his speed and quickness. Gamboa would beat him because of size but don't sell Donaire short.

Sad slick team trying to make a case for Mathebula winning. It's just sad!
