I don't think Chavez will be able to apply pressure like Macklin did, or fight like Barker. I think he's going to have trouble using a gameplan.
If he pressures Martinez anything like he did to Lee, he is going to get rocked. No jab, walking in, taking punches, going for the big shot. Hopefully he takes Sergio more seriously.
Macklin's pressure wasn't reckless, he countered, and took his time, but still got slowly taken apart by Martinez,. As Macklin got more reckless in the Championship rounds, well...you know.
I think Chavez is maybe not fully ready but i will say hes vastly improved since the Martinez drama began Questions I ask on how this fight will go Chavez's Defense, will it be better, hes in with a big puncher and a fast one the last speedy guy Zbik hit him very frequently in kind of embarrassing fashion Chavez Chin, since he will probably eat some real sharp lefts how does he handle it Chavez's ability to cut the ring off and cope with the vast speed difference, if he cant corner Martinez he is not going to be able to break him down Chavez jab, i know he isnt a text book jabber and all but the jabbers have been giving Martinez trouble, Chavez would be well suited to work on his and use his as he will hold a large size advantage As for Martinez He is getting kind of old and has had some more difficult outings lately, in his last fight he really had some problems, is this a sign of whats to come, or is this irrelevant Stamina, he gets tired in fights and takes rounds off and really to me has a tough time fighting a fast pace 12 rounds, Chavez will push him to fight a tight active sort of fight, can he do it Power, does he have the power to hurt Chavez or at least keep him at bay, if his speed and movement are not able to keep Chavez at bay can he punch with him I think Martinez will win but Chavez will fight a tough proud fight and win over some of the haters in defeat
Cant wait for it, should be a good fight. Stylistically, Martinez is all trumps here. The speed and technique he possesses should be more than enough to bloody JCCjr's face to a pulp, but I reckon JCCjr will be walking through bombs the whole night and really forcing the extravagance out of Sergio. Hopefully, this fight will be the first step to Martinez vs May in 2013. If Sergio can dispatch of JCCjr in impressive fashion, his marketability will soar, paving the way to a 154 bout with Floyd.
He is absolutely carried not only by a network but by all the people in the West Coast. He was outlanded 9 or 8 rounds to 3 or to 4 to Sebastian Sbik, sometimes Sbik would double up punches thrown and landed, both power punches and jabs, the only thing Chavez Jr was able to do was land more to the body and HBO BAD unofficial judge scored it for Chavez like two judges which allowed him to win a MD. Sbik didn't argue cause he was far away from his homeland but he was robbed. So it starts the saga of the legendary Chavez Sr son in the 160 pound division and under Freddie roach and Ariza... Now he's in deep trouble like pointed out very well by unbiased Max Kellerman, it was his charisma that gave him the victory and the belt which is nothing but a promotional tool to get this fight with Martinez. Period.
