200K for headliner of a card.... that is terrible. No wonder Dana White is loaded. It clearly pays to have a monopoly. The top fighters make nothing. UFC paid more than 200K for craft services for the crew to produce the show for television. Damn.
No. He is a gifted athlete and an AMAZING chin, but removing his kicks and ability to shoot turn him into an average or slightly above average Boxer. There is video of him sparring Boxers at the Wild Card. He is still one of the GOATs of the fight game.
How many ****ing times do we need to have this conversation? Zuffa only discloses the base salaries for fights. A lot of guys get points on the PPV, and even the ones who don't typically make 2 to 3 times their reported salaries per event. If you think that Lesnar, GSP, Silva and Jon Jones only make a couple hundred grand a fight, then you're a ****ing idiot. Silva's got 7 million for the Sonnen fight from Zuffa plus whatever he gets from his sponsors in Brazil where he's a huge star. It's not Mayweather/Pac money, but it's pretty damn good compared to what all the guys in boxing not named Mayweather or Pacquiao are making when they aren't fighting Mayweather or Pacquiao.
That is some seriously garbage pay. I am actually offended that a guy of Sylva's caliber is getting paid that. Ashamed man. (I hope what Thom said is right!) How is it Sylva headlines the card, KTFOs his opponent, doesn't get a win bonus, AND gets paid LESS than a guy who he already whipped? Dana is a crook.
That is good to know. Problem is though what he gets from his sponsors is his and should not matter in this discussion.
I don't buy the $7 million talk, Brock got less with his bonuses. Silva deserves that pay based on how good the PPV did but I don't see him getting more then 2-3 million imo.
