    I had DLH winning both this one and the Whitaker fights . Close fights that can go either way.

    Quartey claimed he was having a really hard time making 147, didn't do anything after DLH for a year, and when he finally fought again he fought at 154 and he got his ass kicked by Vargas.

    On the other hand, Oscar went on to KO Oba Carr and school Felix Trinidad.

    Ike won that fight

    I had it 8-4


    If Quartey wasn't fighting after such a long layoff he would have TKO'd DLH

    Ike Quartey was teeing off Oscar in the ninth. I doubt Titanium steel chinned Oscar would be KO by Quartey.

    On the other hand, had Oscar hurt Quartey the way he did in the 12th in the earlier rounds when he was fresher, Quartey would have been another KO victory for DLH.

    I love this fight because it shows how versatile Oscar is, and how he can change gameplans and adapt within a fight.

    Maybe you missed the post fight interview. I didn't.

    The Golden Girl wanted NO parts of a rematch - and said as much.


    The only "schooling" Oscar managed was showing Tito how to properly do a Jessie Owens impersonation during the championship rounds.

    Agree. DLH/Whitaker was replayed about a month ago(along with DLH/Vargas). Still could not find more than 4 rounds to give to SweetPea.

    Dlh/Quartey was close till the last round. DLH pulled it off barely.

    Quartey was fighting after a 1.5 year long break

    Thats a LONG time.

    There is a reason why De La Hoya didn't want a rematch- its because he would have lost.
