No. Duran was a complete fighter. Pacquiao is a fighter with great offensive skills.

I wouldn't say he is a poor man's Duran, but I can definitely see the similarities. Although I'm not a Pacquiao fan, I do respect him as a fighter.

I dont know much about Duran but I always hear how great he was. Can anyone recommend a good fight of his to watch? I'm talking about a prime Duran putting on one of his better performances.

Different fighters. Duran was far more refined than Pacquiao. Far better head movement, and there is no point even discussing their respective ring IQ's...

Duran-De Jesus 3, Duran at his finest.

Honestly, better than Leonard win. IMO.

Not even a little. There is no good comparable - he's made his own mold.

He always kind of reminded me of exactly this: a poor man's Duran. Not nearly as varied as him, although there are some similarities.

His win over Palomino may be the best performance in boxing history. DeJesus III is brilliant as well, he shows everything in there against a spectacular opponent. The victory over SRL was obviously his zenith. You'll see the very best Duran in those 3 fights.

As for the thread topic, I don't think Manny fights like Duran to be honest. Both aggressive, both fast, both very good in exchanges, but those are broad similarities. Manny's a more unique kind of offensive force, Duran was much more varied and crafty.

I think So...Pac's defense is underrated too Thing about Duran is he was a brawler who had defensive abilities Pac has his own set of skills, him and brad was both swinging and missing I rarely see two guys trading combos, and both using defense, while hitting air...Pac is a tad more fast than Duran too
