Dont be angry just because Sexy Sergio is gonna **** that Boy up!

  2. rubio can crack and chavez didnt respect his power at all. rubio against martinez would be a competitive fight. i rewatched martinez against pavlik the other day and i honestly dont see what all the fuss is about. martinez is not that good. chavez is much bigger and he's gonna be coming forward all night. martinez wont be able to get his punches off the way he'd like to. i can honestly see chavez winning this. martinez can win too, but a chavez victory wouldnt surprise me in the least.

Ah Middleweight. Such a fun division! I am pumped for that fight.
Jr gonna get hit with a counter like Paul the Punisher?

This fight could very well mirror Martinez's Margarito fight, except that Jr. is more skilled than Margarito.

Chavez is a pure pressure fighter who is one of the most relentless and vicious body punchers in boxing. He's built like a tank and can take a punch.

This fight is a great contrast of styles. Martinez, like many boxers, does well when someone fights at his pace like dzinziruk. When another fighters jacks up the pace, they start to show weaknesses. Or we can see Martinez outbox Jr. early and bank up the rounds and lose the last few.

It's a great match-up no matter how you look at it.

It makes sense to me that the odds are that close, and as many have already stated, if this fight happened a few years ago. The odds would be much higher in favor of Martinez. The odds are closer now because Chavez has looked better (albeit against subpar fighters), and Martinez has shown some vulnerabilities (even in victory).

Put that money on Martinez now. Chavez is garbage in comparison to Martinez. Martinez by very easy knockout later.

That version of Pavlik would have murdered Sexio and put a beating on JCC too.

because he has the bigger wins in the higher profile fights
vegas doesnt deal in hype or message board popularity, they deal in stats and what you have accomplished, when it was accomplished and against who

    Pick em fight.

JCC has come on leaps and bounds and hes a big strong middleweight, whereas Sergio can still fight at 154.

    Gonna be interesting.

Glad to see a true super fight being made

Chavez Jr should be the favorite.

That said Martinez wins via knockout.

Hard fight to call, could go either way. An awful lot will depend on whether JCC can walk down Martinez and take his shots.

I think that a year ago I would have been shocked but after watching the fight with Andy Lee and hearing what Lee had to say, I think it is a tough fight for Martinez.

Size is going to play a huge part in this fight. I think the number one thing they need to work on with Chavez is keeping that head moving non stop throughout the fight. Working his way inside with that movement like his father used to do and banging away inside and staying there.

If he can do that, I think he will be fine. Martinez is a hard puncher but he knocks dudes out with shots they don't see. I don't see Chavez opening himself up wildly to be hit with a shot like that, he will be hit but more from just constant pressure he will be putting on Martinez and getting hit coming in which are shots he will be expecting.

Chavez won't win a round and he will get embarrassed, chavez struggles and goes to distance with guys like zbik and rubio, but all of a sudden he ko's martinez now, because of the andy lee fight.Martinez will land the harder blows and chavez will take like 8 punches just to land 1,also martinez will use angles and counter-punching that will frustrate chavez. This isn't the 80's and he's not his father,we will see when jr gets a broken nose or broken jaw and see if he keeps coming forward then, because martinez will land at will.
