what one thing would u like to see wlad add to his fight game?

it can be a specific punch or an intangible factor like aggressiveness.

after watching the sultan fight again, id say a counter uppercut would make him unbeatable for the foreseeable future. Sultan lunged a lot with wide punches and if wlad countered with an uppercut, it would have been over. instead, he just used his left arm to keep sultan at bay.

the counter uppercut would work great against aggressive fighters or movers like peter, povetkin, chagaev etc.. who come in with wide punches. fighters like valuev, thompson, maskaev who stand in the pocket are much easier to dominate with the jab/straight right.

    A right hand.

    Alright, joking aside... ;)

I agree with your pick, over recent years Wlad's uppercut has gone a bit awol and that's a real shame. Big guys aren't usually good in-fighters, but a good well-timed uppercut on the inside can cover a lot of that and make opponents very cautious in coming in close.

I agree, an uppercut would do wonders for him on the inside, instead of rushing to clinch, when the action heats up on the inside. I still believe he fights to reserved at times, maybe because of his weak chin or mental issues, I dont know. I feel people would respect him more if he learned how to brawl a little bit, because when he panics or falls, he just dont look like a strong champ to me.

totally agree. i dont mind the clinching but not all the time. mix it up. sometimes hold but occassionally throw the uppercut inside or as a counter. it would keep his opponents very off balance so they couldn't recognize a pattern

he occaionsally counters with the left hook or right hand and is very effective, but he doesn't do it enough. uncle manny even said in the corner, when sultan misses go right back and make him pay. wlad was just too patient in that fight.

however, i thought he fought a perfect fight against brewster in the rematch. styles certainly played a big role in the sultan fight though.

he flashed it against brewster. it would have ended this fight imo. look how effective it was for lennox. he hammered aggressive guys like tua and tyson with it.

if he added the uppercut i dont think he'd even be touched. peter had some success because wlad initiated clinches and peter turned him and nailed him. an uppercut would make peter or any aggressive fighter less likely to charge in like that. the only time wlad can get touched now is inside. outside, he's bulletproof. an uppercut would make him unbeatable imo.

u can have a paper mache chin as long as nobody gets to hit it :nod

If he added courage or an iron chin he would be a great champion.

Kobe is God- I do feel a uppercut would work wonders for him, but it's clear to see he feels very uncomfortable the inside, I dont know how else to describe it, but judging by his facial expressions, he probably feels naked in a sense, vulnerable even, to a better inside fighter who will probably feel more at home, away from Wlads telephone pole jab or his vicious right.

    UPPERCUT!!

I think Wlad is one of the most dangerous offensive fighters of the heavyweight division, his hook/double hook off the jab is beautiful:bbb

Aggressiveness, if he went after people and tried to KO them. He destroy every other fighter in the divison.
