he won't enter it, he said something like he would have to travel a lot for this kind of tournament, that he's not the youngest anymore and he would need to take his training camp to the country where the fight would eventually take place... and also, he says he has the Prudential Center booked for 8 Sept and 22 Dec, so fighting in that tourney would collide with his plans... personally, I think he knows it himself that he hasn't got a lot in the tanks left, and just wants another title shot and retirement on another note, I watched the video, and I had trouble understanding half of what Toney said...
I have suspected for a long time he had money problems. Damn shame that him and Jones never looked after their money better
nah man, I don't ****ing read. relax stupid. who cares if he owes the IRS money. that's his fault. he's shot and highly brain damaged. what's more important? long term health, or paying the IRS? please man. irrational idiots? you're the irrational idiots.
Kimbo would be a great $$$ maker for JT, and viceversa. I don't have a problem with these guys fighting past their peaks, but don't go on talking like they're contenders and deserve this shot or that. Now, the RJJ fight should be cancelled and Wlodarczyk should move on and at least fight a BJ Flores type.:-(
The more he fights anyways, the more he will likely owe the IRS. They will likely take 90% of his purses, then get taxed on all that too, plus he will have to cover training expenses, trainers, and so on. He will never cover that tax bill. Joe Louis proved this to be true. The more he fought, the worse it got. Its a damn shame that these guys weren't smart enough to pay their taxes and live a little leaner, Toney and many others made enough money where if they were smart with it, he would be retired with money to last for life. Its amazing how many boxers blow it all, thinking they can earn forever. Imagine the money he would have if he just had lived in a modest house, had one car, and invested the rest? He'd be a retired 43 year old millonare. Its hard to feel sorry for guys that make that kind of money and end up indebted to the government that much. Most of us here earn well under 50k a year likely, but I would guess most of us pay our taxes.
Toney should fight RJJ or Holyfield or Briggs or anyone above 60 years old. Glad this fight ain't gonna happen
