A couple of absolutely idiotic statements from Khan , during on the ropes !!!

Khan gets ridiculous hate on here, its embarrassing how far pissed off some people get because he shows a bit of confidence - as well he should!!

1. Marquez and Bradley have both been offered the fight and turned it down. What's your problem with that? Why are you crying when its true?

2. He's not far from P4P rankings at all and you are crazy if you don't think he is a "top" fighter. So again he's right here but lets start a thread ripping into someone because he's young, confident and successful

3. Given that Marquez has already turned down the fight, Bradley has moved up and Peterson is facing a drugs ban who does that leave? Matthysse? Who lost to two contenders, one of whom Khan KO'd. The winner of this fight will have WBC/WBA and the RING belt. So how is this drivel if he has do all he can do, to clean out the division

Fair enough if you don't like him but you should really do better than bring up 3 statements (that are true) as reason why you don't.

To be fair, JMM and Bradley did refuse fights with him. It's annoying the way he keeps mentioning them, but it's not like he's making it up. And P4P can mean anything. If a fighter is talented, arguably the best in his division and is one of the biggest names in boxing, then it's not that outrageous for him to consider himself a top P4P fighter. He's not exactly saying he's number one. He's just saying he's one of the best.

Nothing to get your knickers in a twist.

Edit: and for the reasons Lilo has given, there's nothing wrong with him saying he's cleared out the division if he beats Garcia. He'll be holding the WBA, WBC and the Ring belt. The IBF one rightly belongs to him too, in my opnion. So that's four titles in one division he's got a claim to. The only one missing the WBO one - which was in the hands of the person who wouldn't face him, only to then be given to the other guy that didn't wanna' fight him either.

 

Why are you shouting? I agree with most of the breakdown. We need to realise at the time these opponents were a challenge for Khan. It doesn't matter what they've managed to achieve since then. Paulie is a champ now. That's how you bounce back from defeat lol.

Salita; Khan had to fight. Paulie he had to fight as an intro to America and see if he could outbox a world class B fighter. McCloskey; Khan was landing and winning all rounds regardless of him looking sloppy.

I was curious to know what opponents you wanted him to face to satisfy you're needs. The good news most of these have moved up to 147. These can still be made. He offered two of them to fight. Robert had like a long retirement and is back now. Devon just was too inactive at that time.

I think we agree on one thing; Khan has ALOT of flaws; B level fighter who wants to face the best possible opponents out there. He'll prob come up short cos he no RJJ but atleast he try's his best.

To answer your question yes Khan has consistently fought top guys since he came to America. The number 1 guy at the time Timid Timmy didn't want to fight him.

None of Guerrero, Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz are at 140. Marquez has turned down the fight previously.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this. We know he offered it to Bradely and he declined. I remember seeing the video in which he says "Your time will come Khan". And I've got no doubts in my mind he offered it to Marquez and he refused as well. So not sure what your argument is for this? That he's lying lol?

You can ask any boxing expert out there and they will all say he's one of the top fighters in the division. Even in the official rankings he's there in the top 10. He can't be totally terrible at boxing and still have such a big name, the limelight and money. Nothing wrong with this statement at all. After the Prescott knockout he was down and out and under Freddie he became a two time world champion. He has become a top fighter and a pretty big name. Just because you don't rate him that doesn't mean he's not ONE of the top fighters out there.

I'm pretty sure he's looking at it from the perspective that he will become the WBA, IBF and WBC champion. Considering the fact that Bradely ducked him and Marquez refused to fight him as well, he won't be able to unify the division. I can see that there are still a few good names he hasn't faced ( such as Devon Alexandar) so this is debatable but no need to get your panties in a twist about this statement..

"cleaned out the division" he will have fought the highest available contender, will be a double unified champion. He would have cleaned out the division of its best available fighters.

To say that Khan is "DUM FOUNDED" patsch) when you clearly have problems with spelling, grammar and forming a cohesive argument is a little, well "DUM". :good
