I've been on ESB since well before he ever became a world champion and one thing which has remained constant in the years I've been on here, is people not giving him his due. Yeah, maybe he isn't his dad but he's a tough, gritty fighter who wants to step out of his dads shadow. People diminish his wins, saying his opponent was garbage or whatever, he constantly gets accused of cheating and even people have said he'd never fight Martinez, even when the fight is signed people aren't willing to give him credit. Chavez deserves a lot of respect. He's a warrior and even though he may lose to Martinez, at least he has always wanted to fight him.
He doesn't dissapoint in the ring; good inside fighter who goes all out for the KO. He'll always have the stigma that he's the son of a legend etc. I think he's been undermatched. Sergio will give him a good ass whoopin but i'm afraid he'll get robbed by Bob. I think people are confused as to the weight problems, him not doing tests in texas, did he fail some etc. There seems to be no cause and effect for JCC Jr... it's as if he gets it easy everytime.
Hes a cheating **** and frequently outweighs opponents by 20 pounds and gets busted for DUIs days before his fights.
I give him his due, he's definitely chavez's son. he's a relentless beast. the thing is, people seem to think he's on roids and/or think he rehydrates too an unfairly high weight.
I like his current career path. Andy Lee and Sergio Martinez are legitimate middleweights. My problem is that I'm not sure Jr. is a legitimate middleweight. The guy has been caught once, puts on far more weight than normal before the bout, and has fought under a commission that doesn't follow its own protocols. While I don't blame Jr. for them not testing, it looks bad.
boxing fans are the only ***s worried about who their dads are...what weight he comes in...what state he fights etc etc.... rarely do they ever even care about a great fight...it's like nowadays everyones a politician out to "clean" the sport.....hahahahah
Jr. got plenty of credit when he beat Lee and he'll get plenty more if he beats Martinez. I don't see what the problem is.
Your 100% coreect. I'm not a fan, but he has proven me wrong as far as being a protected fruad. He's turned into quite the fighter, PED's or not. He could have ducked Martinez, but looks like he wants to try & keep this streak going. I hope Sergio busts that face up good! This is a PPV worth buying.:deal
I love a great fight. One way to make great fights is to keep the fighters on as equal terms as possible. That is why weight classes were established in the first place.
Tell you what, if everything's on the level then Chavez is a ****ing monster. Otherwise he's a cheating LHW fighting MW's.
