Tyson Fury loses Irish Heavyweight title

I always felt he dropped that BBOC title soas he could fight for the EU title vs Dimitrenko. When he was passed up for that, he opted to fight for the Irish title.

No big deal...it actually saves him from having to fight nohoper Irish kids anyways. That is unless Perez was barking in which case it's likely a good thing for him.:yep

Can we drop the "plastic paddy" ****? It's tired. I have no reason to doubt fury's sincerity in his desire to be Irish champ, and I really don't understand why the bui would strip him of a title that they haven't cared much about until recently.

It should be ridiculously obvious that the bloke is Irish. Grandparents = Irish, Mother = Irish, Father = Irish. Raised as an Irish traveller his entire life. Ironic that the majority of English types that like to deny his birth right have no qualms about disgracefully claiming the likes of Chisora as English and completely (racists no doubt) throw his entire African heritage in the bin. :-(

Whilst I agree that Fury has every right to regard himself as Irish, he has played on his 'Britishness' to sell himself, most recently when he challenged the winner of Haye/Chisora to a battle of Britain.

But his affection for Ireland is clear to anybody with eyes and ears - before his pro debut he referred to himself as 'Irish fighting for Britain', he has been seen training in an Irish football top, and the other night he brought the flag into the ring with him.

I don't why anybody thinks he's feigns Irishness to increase his marketability as it's clearly the other way around - he occasional sports the tiniest of Union flags on his shorts as a concession (no doubt at the behest of Mick).
