^I'd like to see it Never knew this thread existed (just never saw it). Will look through, curious to see them.
Not too bad compared to the white collar that's up here, largely seems to be fat blokes throwing windmills. Just out of interest, why white collar?
Thanks pal haha. I dont think I am good enough to box as an amateur, so white collar boxing is the next step down. I hope to have my first amateur match when i improve my technique. Hopefully when I get time Ill put the entire fight of that one on here. :good
http://youtu.be/uOxSQ-udCp0 My first fight on July 3rd. I noticed the ref gave me a standing 8 AFTER i connected with a hook. i'm in the US and Philippine flag trunks and white jersey
Who won? I'm guessing the other guy, since you got a standing 8. It looked really close otherwise. You guys were just trading punches - pretty entertaining. I think he landed more, but you seemed to land some quality hooks upstairs. Good fight. How many have you had?
that was my first but i'm going to be heading back into the gym. I gave myself a 3 week no contact period but apparently my gym's owner knows a lot of chicago area promoters so there's amateur events going fairly frequently. I got 2 standing 8s and I'm not really sure why. The first one I got right after connecting with a hook. He won but I'm sure he wasn't feeling great the next day just like I wasn't. Lot of blood on me that wasn't mine. I knew I had to fix my distance but my arms wouldn't stop punching so with more sparring I should be a lot more comfortable.
I didn't know the Navy does box offs. Is it for the spots on the Navy team? I avoid Norfolk if at all possible.Plus august won't be any good. Still in the Summer Surge for recruits. Maybe I can come out next year.

FINALLY! I found one of me. Wish it were one where I won, but this'll have to do. It's my second fight back in April. Yeah, I know I have tons to work on. I'm a little better now, but still need to work on some of my bad habits. I've improved some of my flaws, i.e. on my heel too much, right hand too low, not cutting off the ring. Any other feedback is welcome. This was a good learning experience. I'm 5'8 and he was 6'5 at 139 lbs. Didn't know how to fight guy this tall back then, but I learnt so much from this. My first win since coming back to the sport after 10 years out at 24. I'm in the blue. Let me know what you guys think. Round 1 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py0r7tUpU2I&feature=plcp[/ame] Round 2 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe21ipZqGqI&feature=relmfu[/ame] Round 3 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB-cofBYVLs&feature=relmfu[/ame]
Looked good. Your jab was hitting the mark, kept whipping his head back, especially that right hand in rd 2. I'd give you all 3 rounds. I don't know what red's strategy was, cuz he wasn't blocking your shots, nor was he dishing too many back. He seemed to be content to be backing off constantly and trying pathetically do employ a switch-stance which did absolutely nothing for him. You stayed patient, which is hard against a guy that does nothing but back up. Good win!
