does he has a fanbase or a big hbo or showtime deal. he is undisputed champ and not many people seem to care, that tells you that ward doesnt make it big like X who made it big.

 

To be real, X was never a PPV draw in his own right, nor had a huge fanbase. . .

Ward has a nice litle base in Oakland right now. . . He's also widely discussed, and praised on all boxing forums by us niche hardcore fans. . .

He's only a few fights deep since fighting on television. . .

Give him 3 more years, and he'll be more well known.

well X had luck he had trinidad, oscar. ward doesnt has that.

I think time wont change nothing. like at wlad, well he makes it in europe, but germans no **** about boxing. look in the states, wlad win year after year and has basicly no fanbas in usa. it wont change with ward either unless he wins but in entertaining fashion. you coul say floyd is like ward and floyd is a superstar, but the difference is sometimes like vs coralles or gatti mayweather was very exciting. on top not like ward he talks trash and gets you hyped for fights. his 24/7 is sadly more entertaining than most of his fights but he gets people into the fight story.

Exactly, without an opponent to fight with a big fanbase, Hopkins drew ****, really. . . Look at all his PPV numbers with guys like Dawson - LOL, did like 35k buys. . .

Ward has a big fanbase in Oakland, just like Hopkins has in Philly; I'd honestly say they have about the same. . . Hopkins sold about 7-9k when he fought Enrique Orales or whatever in Philly a few years back, while Ward had about 7-9k in Oakland.

Wladimir is not just popular in Europe, he has a HUUGEE fanbase all over EUrope. . Even in USA, he has more fans than people think. Him and his brother have sold out areans pretty much everytime they fight in USA? Just in case ya didn't get the memo, boxing is an INTERNATIONAL SPORT, my good man! Fans in the USA DO NOT MATTER ANYMORE htan fans in Germany, or Ukraine, or Russia, or England, etc.


All because you're not on HBO PPV selling 1+ million every PPV fight like Floyd doesn't mean you don't have a good fanbase. . .
