They didn't know who he was before the fight but what about after it?? Mayweather Sr,Holmes,Ray J etc in attendance..Could it be the begining of creating a name over there? Thoughts?
Holmes wasn't impressed, was bagging Mundine for taking most of the rounds off. Said he needs to work a lot harder than that.
"He's a good fighter, but what he's doing is all wrong ... That macho attitude will get him into trouble," "He can fight, but he takes breaks." Holmes said.
Had this fight been in Australia it would have been another Mundine circus bringing in a no hoper opponent. Having said that it is good that he at least went to the States but it's not as if it was even on a HBO or Showtime undercard where he would have received more exposure. But again just being there is better then nothing I guess. If he is serious about fighting Miguel Cotto or Saul Alvarez he should go after Trout to get a belt. Trout is on Showtime now and if Anthony could beat him on that platform and pick up a belt at JMW he would place himself in some sort of a position to fight an Alvarez or Cotto. But as always with Khoder who knows what is going to happen. And Anthony had Trout practically begging to come down here to give him a shot not too long ago and Anthony turned it down so is that a fight Anthony dare takes? I mean I think he could beat Trout but Anthony had not one but two opportunities to take that fight and didn't. He had the fight but he said the conditions were unfair because he wasn't a mandatory. So he beats Rigarberto Alvarez to become mandatory and doesn't turn up to the purse bid. Third times a charm?
you must be joking. all mundine has done is exactly what danny green has been doing for years now - fighting faded retirees in their 40's and then callling out big names who are laughing at them. mundine and green, have never been more than ranked contenders, and its that simple
Yep Anthony has arrived by defeating an opponent that Winky Wright was criticised for fighting 12 years ago.
I don't think he's arrived, I think he's more likely to leave soon. It's a shame actually, as I was just starting to warm to to him a bit, but I really think whatever he does now is a case of too little too late. I doubt he'll make an impact on anyone now.
Some of the commentary was classic, had me laughing. At.one point they referred to mundine as the Australia David Beckham :rofl Where do they get this ****?
Nothing to write home about with that performance...but did finish it well, I'll give him that..showed some power and bit of killer instinct, which he doesn't show very much anymore..probably more to do with Bronco's conditioning failing him though.
Danny Garcia vs Khan was an epic, got to see both mains one after the other and the difference in class and skill was huge. Great win by Garcia to claim Tszyu's old title
I like Khan but I love seeing underdogs get up like that... I jumped up off the lounge after that first knockdown.
