Seeing as this is thread is being turned into an anti Brit rant by Yanks, how do they feel about Gerald McClellans all time top glass head, cos Nigel Benn proper ****ed that didn't he?

  2. Wrong Foxy. I am British. I acknowledge that many Brits have Glass Jaws though.:deal

I'm not seeing the anti-Brit bias. The only true contender for Khan's crown at this point is Kirkland.

An all too familiar story for people who have followed Khan since he went professional. The very modest punches of Willy Limond back in 2007 set the tone for a career that was destined to be punctuated with brutal KOs.

An immediate move up to 147 will be touted, they will site the example of Miguel Cotto, whose chin looked decidedly dodgy at 140 but cured his ailment with the extra 7lbs. This is different though, Khan has now done the chicken dance at 135 and 140. The most worrying aspect of last night’s KO was that Garcia’s left hook landed more on Khan’s neck than his chin.

Regardless, he’ll be back, and he’ll win titles again too. He’s too young and too athletically gifted not to, but what we’re looking at here is the second coming of Zab Judah I’m afraid - always within several fights of a brutal KO/stoppage.

    Fixed it for you.;)

    Just a quick question:

As a self appointed erm ( CHIN CHECKER ) do you think it might be fair for people to expect you to notice that the punch that caused the problem actually hit his neck?

I wouldn't say Cotto's chin has ever been dodgy.

KO losses to a guy with concrete gloves and a prime Manny Pacquiao is nothing to be ashamed of.

But, i do however agree with the rest of your post.

I too agree, that Khan has excelled in this category and it would be most unfair if the powers that be,not annoint him as THE Glass Jaw Champion.

Khan looked like he was taking a bow during the first knockdown.

Watch the DeCorley fight, mate. Chop Chop was one of the lightest punchers in the division at the time but he had Cotto well and truly on ***** street. He was hopelessly dehydrated for that fight. If he’d had stayed at 140 much longer than he did he would have been sparked.

LOL! I have no idea why people put heat on the ChinCheckers. They do a great job in their craft and people get upset. While watching Con fall, I immediately thought of the fellow ChinCheckers jotting down notes in the notebook with their eyes lighting up at what they were watching. :D

    Question:

How can anybody justify.....actually, no - I'm not getting involved in this silliness.

  14. Cordial salutations to you ko artist. What a refreshingly well-thought-out post, which is the least that can be expected from an Elite-level poster of your calibre. :deal

I take on board what you are saying, but Khan needs a ticket to the top of the list, his Chin is pitiful.

Seriously. I've followed boxing for 35 years, and believe me, I've seen some great glassed jawed fighters come and go over the years: Leon Spinks, John Tate, Tommy Morrison, Terry Norris, Diego Corrales, etc. etc.

But all of those guys really can't hold a candle to Khan went it comes to the sheer FRAGILITY of his mandible. It is, honest to goodness, the worst chin I ever seen on a rated fighter. There are low level tomato cans that take better shots that this guy.
