Khan would be better to go to 147...does anyone agree?

Honestly, the problem with Khan is his chin, if he had a half way reasonable punch resistance I honestly don't see any of those out boxing Amir. As it is he is always vunerable to a big puncher. Bradley would be a great fight.

 

I think he needs to move up, he's making himself vulnerable cutting that much weight. He weighed 148lbs when he entered the ring, 9lbs more than at the weigh in. That's too much for a light welterweight.
At 5'10 he is not too small to be a welterweight.

 

Mayweather is a big puncher.....not a knock out artist but he is extremely accurate and precise. No one walks through his punches that must tell you something!

Plus if Mayweather was able to K.O Hatton who had never been K.O'd before best believe he would K.O Khan!

 

Mayweather not a big puncher, he KO'd half the guys he fought at the weight. And in the Zab fight he probably could have stopped Zab had Zab not started a brawl in the ring and against Marquez its obvious he was there to put in rounds and use Marquez for live target practice.

 

I agree, he was too big for lightweight, and now he's too big for light welter.
If he gets knocked out at welter, hey, just move up to light middle cuz he's too big for welter and cutting that much weight is dangerous and gives him a weak chin.atsch

Lopez and Brook do too.

More than half the division would KO Khan, who do you want him to fight?

Not only that but Khan's power is below average at best at 140, unless him carrying extra weight equates to more power for him at 147, which is only likely if he does sit down a bit - but unfortunately is not a good style for him - than opponents are taking his speed to land bombs on him.

I don't see it as a good move right now.

 

No the fighters up at 147 will walk through him, they will all be too big for Khan. Khan isn't too big for the weight it's his chin, or lack of one, and him being totally overrated.

Look at Garcia, his record was 24-0(14) coming into the fight yet destroyed Khan. Garcia isn't a massive puncher yet he hit to hard for Khan.

 

Garcia isn't a savage puncher either. Doesn't take much to spark Khan. He would lose to just about every fighter you listed.

 

He would gain a degree of resolve with the move up to 147 as he did previously with the move up from 135 to 140, he is a big 140, but it’s not going to be enough, the chin is hopelessly soft, always has been.

 

You don't need big power to buzz khan tho, that's his problem.
