is khan the DUMBEST athlete in professional sports?

He definitely isn't the smartest fighter, he get taken out of his game plan easily. It is a shame because the talent and heart is there, the boxing smarts isn't.

Is it possible that he gained muscle from his focus on weightlifting that now he's draining himself more at 140, thus hindering his punch resistance even more?

I'm not saying that's the case since Garcia has a nice left hook and hit him with a great timed shot that Khan didn't see, but it's certainly a theory for Khan fans to think about at least. You're pretty much spot on with everything you said. Garcia was studying him well and was timing him well even before the first knockdown. Khan fights incredibly dumb.

 

Khans first knockdown,behind the ear shot,a great shot from the opponent but surely would be a disabling effect on any fighter.I thought Khan fought with real class after that.I know if Garcia would get caught with that,his lights would be out,his chin is tested yet? Has it?

 

Khan is dumber, garcia's looping shot can be easily slipped and blocked but he's always tagged because he's so concentrated on stopping garcia.

He's an idiot in that he didn't clinch/grab when he got hurt. He should have grabbed garcia and held on for dear life that 4th round, not tried to trade punches with a guy who was pummeling him. Same thing Billy Conn did with Joe Louis...

Give Khan props for wanting to trade punches, but tactically it wasn't a smart thing to do. I doubt Freddie Roach told him between rounds to "go in their and knock him out".

He made mistakes to allow that shot in. But he also out boxed Garcia up until then. He was unlucky in a sense. Amir will be back, it's the defeats that define true champion. Amir only has two. That's right, **** the Peterson bout, that will be declared a NC.
