He was not on steady legs

 

There were 3 seconds left.

And Chisora may have looked sturdy in the legs, but you didn't get a look at his eyes at the time, now did you? Plus, it's not the referee's job to keep up with the time remaining in the round.

One last thing. Did Chisora or his people ever complain about the stoppage?

I agree, I thought Chisora could have continued, maybe stop the fight in the next round if he got caught in another flurry and had trouble defending himself


It would have been dangerous to let Khan continue, and the ref should be applauded for using great judgment after already allowing Khan to continue from two other big KDs

Both Chisora & Khan should have been allowed to continue so these type of threads wouldn't be made.

Agreed we would have preferred the KO ten count then stretcher scenario.
But the reffs are all panic zoned in 2012...
Bayless for instance last night really pulled a "Richard Steele" from Ruddock/Tyson I last night. Leaving doubt for some people (Not me)

Attention refs... Let the fighters get KTFO, it's better for them.

 

Khan was saved by the ref at the end of round 3. "ARE YOU OKAY? ARE YOU OKAY?" after a slow count. Chisora didn't get the same special treatment and should've been allowed to continue.

 

Both stoppages were fine

and Both guys Khan and Chisora won't complain one bit about them

Exactly, people overlook this. The Khan fight is a prime example of why that's what is supposed to happen. Khan got knocked down and hurt at the end of the round, and never recovered. If you're a ref and you look in a guys eyes and you don't like what you see, you have to stop the fight. You can't assume that the guy will be ok after a minutes rest.

While I agree with you on each stoppage, Each ref is looking at different circumstances and making snap judgements, in real time, with 1 crack at it. Each circumstance is unique. Although I didn't like the Chisora one, it is far more acceptable to me than the idea that Bayless did wrong by Khan.
