kenny bayless was suspect last night....

I really don't get why people are all over that today.

Ref counts, then "are you ok?" then "come to me" then gloves cleaning.

Of course it makes more than 10 seconds!!atsch

Yes he gave a lot of time but what he did was very "common" to me.

 

The cash was more important to his corner.

 

This is what I've been saying. Bayless did everything he could to ensure he wouldn't have to stop the fight. He gave Khan a long count and kept asking if he was okay, when if he had any question as to Khan's ability to continue, it should've been stopped. The fight should've been a TKO3.

 

atschatsch DO you realize that it is standard procedure that the ref has to assess the fighter after a brutal KD like that? They ask the fighter if they are ok, tell the fighter to walk to them and then wipe their gloves off. Jesus some people here are total idiots.

 

Pretty normal time was giving to Khan to recover.. that's standard in just about every fight.. they don't just count to 10 and move out of the way.

 

He was very generous to khan given the state he was in, and took an inordinate amount of time with his gloves before resuming the action.

 

Like **** it would.

 

Thought he did a good job. As usual.

 

What difference would that have made? The implication was that h was protecting Khan, yet he called it off when Amir was still standing. Surely he could have let Amir carry on for longer if he was wanting hm to win. Khan clears his head and Garci's finished, that's what were worried about.

 

Think this further nudges Smoger and Weeks ahead now of Bayless who i still regard as a top flight ref but he was a bit suspect last night.
He did seem to try to safe Khan in the 3d.

 

Bayless was okay looked at the fight again was stopped at the right time.

 

Bayless handled that situation perfectly, though you could argue that the 2nd KD should have ended the fight. Khan had been performing well and got hit by one shot, and Bayless gave him a chance to recover. Some fighters are able to weather the storm and especially given an entire minute, but Amir was unable to do so.
