Josesito Lopez vs. Danny Garcia

    Welterweight, some time early next year.


    Josesito has said that he'd been planning to make the permanent jump up even before he signed against Ortiz.

    Danny himself is probably due to move up fairly soon. He's about the same size, and is about the ripe age for an ascent and has already fought above the 140lbs limit several times (in fact, more than he's fought under it).

    It would have been an interesting match-up when both campaigned at light welterweight, and will be even more interesting half a stone north - especially in light of them each upsetting one of boxing's mega-hyped wunderkinds.

    Oh god dude, I love this fight! I'm a fan of both guys so it will be tough with whoever loses, but still a amazing fight that I would kill to see! Hope this really does happen! Great idea IB :good

    I went with Lopez on points, because I just have a feeling Lopez will be busier in what should be a tremendous war!

    Ive been so busy thinking about how Khan can save his career I forgot about this jewel of a fight.

    As happy as I am for Garcia that he won, I honestly believe that Josesito Lopez's punches would be too crisp as opposed to Garcia's looping shots (the punch that knocked Khan down was a blind shot) and with Lopez's seemingly solid chin and work rate id fancy him to pick Garcia off on points

    Id prefer to see Garcia - Mathysse before this happens though

    The thing is, both have absolutely iron chins.

    You'd think the way they both fight and as hard as they throw their punches, something would have to give and eventually one guy wouldn't be able to take it anymore...but who? :think

    Yeah, Lopez has better offensive form. Garcia has that wicked timing, though. Both can shatter a jaw - literally or figuratively. :lol: Both fight their hearts out three minutes of every round.

    Oh - and while they're both American-born residents of the USA, this kind of counts as another installment of Mexico vs. Puerto Rico. :deal

    Which makes a great match-up even better.

    At this point, I'd slightly favor Josesito, but it would be a close tough fight either way, and I wouldn't blame anyone who picked Garcia to win.

    If golden boy would have just chilled out for a minute on Canelo and September 15th date which the universe was trying to tell them is not going to work. They could have had Garcia Lopes.

    I want to see this fight next, to hell with Canelo. This fight is PPV worthy damn near. I'd love to see the fight at 140 in the fall. Maybe Canelo will suffer an "injury" in training that halts the 9-15 fight.
