Khan's chin or just a shot in a bad spot?

His chin is a glaring weakness in his make up as a fighter. He's always going to be vulnerable to punchers and unlike other fighters in the past who have had a similar vulnerabilities he has not learned to fight in a manner that suits his attributes.

Khan has all the physical tools to be an elite fighter but he is either unwilling or simply not smart enough or disciplined enough to fight with a style that minimises his weaknesses. With his height, reach, speed and agility he should be a boxer, counter puncher but he fights as a boxer puncher, never counter punching and always instigating the action. As long as he fights in this manner and letting his heart rule his head he is simply just another KO waiting to happen.

 

Garcia said something to one overconfident Khan in the final presser face-off and that is "look in my eyes, not at my nose" and that means either Khan was tryin to avoid eye contact for arrogance or subconscious fear or he was just tired of these face-offs and typical pre-fight pressers. I cannot tell if he underestimated garcia and tried to take him outa there and got caught or if he never looked at an opponent's eyes which is fundamental for blasting him away. One thing is for sure Khan was floored BIG TIME when hit in the same spot Prescott caught him and that is in the lower jaw, left side, right on the lowest part, near the ear and the neck and he was completely out by then, end of round three... Bottom line, Khan may have power, ability, speed, intelligence and more, but he'll never be a great fighter not having a chin.

 

If he'd learn to defend and work out a counter strategy vs these stand and trade fighters he'd be fine. Yeah he's never going to be undefeated again, but neither will Lennox Lewis and he's an ATG.
He got caught cold. Period. Same for Lewis X2. KhanX2. Maybe he should seek the services of one Manny Steward in learning to fight defensively in spots, rahter than flatfooted trading early in fights......ROFL ROFL ROFL

 

It is 100% khans chin. Look at his past 4 fights that says it all KO'd by prescott shook by Maidana off balance against Peterson and now KO'd by Garcia it's all chin good shots but can't handle them he can't take a decent punch

The punch was well placed and timed but it hit Khan on his neck, that ****ed up his senses and balance.

Khan before that was owning Garcia and making him look silly, I guess boxing is a tough sport one punch can change a fight, Khan was over pressing he just needed to hold back a little and he would of broken up Garcia by the 7th 8th round.

Oh well he will come again, Khan showed some crazy fast hand speed last night.

 

Khan brought that on himself, too reckless, over pressing, and flat footed.

Very true. But give credit Danny did what he had to do and capitalized on Khans mistakes.

Khan fought as if he was this one KO puncher with an iron chin. Reckless abandon , ala Maidana or Ponce De Leon, and he paid for it. Not sure what the heck he was thinking but he was overconfident and underestimated Garcia's ability.

Khan has been dropped and staggered throughout his career - blown up feathers like a 37 yr old michael gomez and even that ATG power puncher willie limond ( exactly , who ??? ) theres footage of him being dropped as an amatuer by someone called craig watson - he ships a left hook to the top of the head and on his way down he does the zab judah shuffle - that was with 10 oz gloves and head gear - he just does not hold a shot well at all, that he got as far as he has post prescott is more testament to roach and his teams ability than it is khans .
