Thats how pathetic thile HW division is. All a guy has to do is disrespect someone no matter if hes known or not and he gets a title shot.

I would have watched Haye vs. Chisora.

Vitali engages, I have no problem with him on TV. Wlad should never be broadcast again.

Vitali just fought Chisora, who was hot on that moment. He's 40 FFS.

Many champions in the past fought prospects who were worse than Charr.

Didn't HBO get a new head of Boxing or something? Maybe he's trying to get heavyweight back on TV with Mitchell as a decent prospect and likely future Klitschko opponent.

    Fight is awful though.

I just hope it isn't Vitali's last fight. Signing off with a guy who'd struggle to be called C class isn't ideal.

Name me a better fight in the last 3 years. This was definitely a good fight.
Haye was off for a reason but if they showed this fight then he could be back on for sure

    Resisting the urge to troll,

I will say that this is being billed as Vitali's retirement fight so naturally its going to get more attention.

    Duh.

For a British domestic fight it was certainly good. Usually those fights end with some BS stoppage against the ropes. :rofl:patsch

I think you're overlooking HBO's strategy here. There's no way Ken Hershman would add this bout on its own merits. This is the guy who masterminded the Super 6, and to this point he has yet to make an imprint at HBO (not all his fault, given the various injuries, PED scams and promotional conflicts).

So, this fight will serve as a reintroduction to Vitali, which will then set up a big fall fight against Haye. Is there any doubt that's what Hershman is up to with this? Haye re-emerged as an entertaining force and dispatched Chisora far more emphatically than did Vitali. The irony is that it's Haye, not Vitali, who got Vitali back on the airwaves. Gotta love boxing!

Why? What a boring night of boxing, Old Vitali easy UD and Ward-Dawson jab, jab, jab jab jab...

At least Ward-Dawson has two skilled boxers evenly matched. Which is quality entertainment for a hardcore fan, Vitali will outbox the overmatched Charr easy.
