it's the ones you dont see that hurt most. and thats what makes this worse. garcia really wings his hooks... so much so morales mocked him. he got caught with a great counter left hook in this one which he never saw. the maidana fight when he got caught he was circling off the ropes and was not as unexpected as this counter hook he recived from garcia while he was midway through his own combo. at the end of the day, maidana has more raw power and heavier hands but is much more crude and a plodder. Garcia mixes it up with body attacks and a great counter shot. something else which hasnt really been mentioned and shouldnt really be an excuse, was the lowish blows khan got, they probably weakened him as well as having an effect of him maybe dropping his hands lower when coming in - although khan is careless like that anyway
It's a fair point about a counter punch. Always does more damage when you don't see it coming. But I mean, ****, Khan's leg were still wobbly after the break between rounds. They never recovered at all. He took some huge shots from Maidana and they were always solid beneath him, even though he was hurt. Since we know for a fact Ariza worked on strenghtening his legs, I'd say there has to be some influence on the outcome there. Ariza knows his stuff.
i would say yes and no. khan always had problems with opponents with KO power. even with ariza's help in strengthening khan's legs, he still got wobbled many times because of how he fights.
had nothing to do with it at all, not even remotely. He coulda been roided up and it wouldn't have made a difference.....
Likely because of where he took the punch this weekend. He took flush shots after that first knockdown and he took them with no worse outcome. Keep in mind that the part of the CNS or nerve ganglia that is impacted by punches to the front lower jaw can also be impacted by punches to where Amir took that shot from Garcia. I think further possible evidence of this is when boxers often times get hit flush in the mouth they more often tend to 'lose their legs' while generally maintaining their mental faculties, although sometimes a bit punch drunk. Possibly due to primarily only peripheral nerves of the CNS being traumatized and not the brain, which is what happens when you GKTFO.
i also think he cant make 140 anymore and is totally weight drained. look at his body in the judah fight compared to last night
