What martches do you guys think aren't as good as people saying they were.
Personally I think the showdown is overrated it was a ok fight but not close to top 10 of all time.

    Yes, I agree with this.....

Jackson vs Castro also is a tad overrated IMO...

Benvenuti-Griffith I. Got fight of the year and outside of a few highlights I found the fight pretty boring filled with a lot of clinching.

I agree with this. Very tedious fight, and The Ring had it as their fight of the year.......slow year, it would seem.

Ortiz-Berto. Fun fight through six, but a bit of a clinch fest in the second half of the fight.

    Frazier-Quarry 1.

I think it was fight of the year in 1969 but aside from a great give and take first round Smokin' Joe completely dominated the fight.

I was surprised at how one sided it was when I first saw it to be honest.

Didn't Ring magazine rate Foreman-Frazier I as their fight of the year? A riduiculous one-sided 2 round pounding and fight of the year. Come on.

The Ring, like most fans here, have (or had) their heads so far up heavyweight asses it's crazy. I mean, wasn't Taylor-Anaya fought that same year?

A perfect example. Also, although I didn't see it, the 2nd Herrera-Martinez fight sounded like pure mayhem. Nothing but an evenly contested barn-burner should be considered for that prize.

Obviously not of all time but Hagler/Hearns. GREAT first round, but pretty one-sided after that. The last 2 rounds are definitely slightly overrated.

I've always been baffled by this too. Can't see their logic. It was the SENSATION of the year, but a FIGHT.....???????????
