You can't tell at this stage, he has all the physical attributes to do well though.

He also must be naturally skilled to be doing so well after such a small number of fights.

 

If he has a good chin he will go far, he was stopped in the Europeans by a small big punching Romanian, he wasnt dropped but was badly wobbled if I remember correctly !

 

if the coming era is a **** as the klitschko era then anyone half decent with some size has got a shout

 

It's too early to say until he's had a few pro fights, although I may come back to this after the Olympics if he medals.

Really have not watched enough footage, but from what I have seen looks very raw.

The kid has started late, but he def has the tools. Will be keeping an eye on him for sure.

Its a bit early to compare him to anyone and even if he win's the olympics that won't guarantee he will be a good pro, you only have to look at Audley Harrison to know that.

From what I have seen he is still very raw, he has decent power and more importantly a decent attitude, will he develop the skills needed? it's possible, he also needs to deal with pressure very quick because if he does do well at the games? There will be a lot of expectation on his shoulders.

Amateur pedigree seems to serve the heavies better. It's the chin that will make or break him. The Olympic gold medal could be a ****** on his shoulder, bigger pro deal stardom before his time etc.... Just look at Harrison.

 

Agreed, if he medals needs to get out the country and start his career in the US, get away from the uk hype

 

If he does well why not turn pro with McCracken?

Does the fact that Rob trains the GB team prevent any of them from using him as a pro trainer to avoid conflicts of interest?

Will Rob even train a pro fighter again once Froch retires?

I believe he's 23 and it's impossible to say, he's only an amateur.

 

One thing is for sure he has the athletic ability but right now needs more experience.. He is a fantastic athlete and extremely strong! Like I say it's only experience that he needs! He should only turn over if he medals and medals big IMO, learn your trade.. He has a fantastic and very very knowledgable coach in McCracken he really does! The GB boys are all great athletes and basically professionals in vests and headguards! :good
