If you have had 4 or less pro bouts you can regrade as an amateur, anything more and you can't. Also AIBA won't allow pro's back in 1 million years, the Olympic commitee was pushing for that to make more money. What they have now though is the world series. Where amateur boxers fight with no head guard or vest over 5x3's and can still compete in the Olympics.
I find it funny that some one says "he's not that bad" because who's to say amateurs are worse than pro's? Many pro's like Maidana or even Garcia wouldn't do anything in the Olympics. It's a different game.
Yeah but he's a pro now, he's not that bad that he should go back to the amateurs. The amateurs are very high level as well, just different.
Over 3 rds, Presscott is the only man to beat Khan as a pro. That might not have happend with a head guard on. That's just how different the two games are.
Yeah, I agree, he's not that bad but his style is suited better for the amateur game. Personally I think Khan has terrible technique for some one of that amateur pedigree. He sticks his chin in the air a lot. He needs to slow it down a bit imo, stop wasting all his energy early on. Pro boxing has a slower pace.
What's your point Vidic? Do you think anyone has out landed Khan over 3 rounds? Check my post history, I'm not really a fan of his, I'm just putting an emphasis on how different the two games are.
The two really aren't that different at all, has anyone watched the amateurs in recent years? There's more toe to toe banging and inside fighting than 95% of pro matches.
Why would he want to do that. It's not like he's the worst pro around with all losses. He just isn't as good as the elite fighters.
atsch How much do you really know about this sport? I mean kind of question should not come from someone who has been in a boxing forum for 3 plus years.
