Why don't we see more interesting fights in the HW division? Forget Haye vs Klitschko

Right, Haye vrs. any of Povetkin, Adamek, or Arreola would be great to watch.

It's exasperating to see the Haye fans rationalize Haye wanting to face a K2 bro without giving the fans some good fights first. Haye seems to realize that the fans appreciated the Haye-Chisora match-up...instead of chasing another K2 pay-day how about giving us some more fights like Haye-Chisora.

 

When he was champ, he could of made a better fight then fraudley.

I would like to see haye vs areolla!!

 

because no one likes to actually take a risk.

take any top 25 guys, they will feast on top 100 guys until they feel they deserve a shot at one of the titles
take adamek out that equation as well as chisora, everyone else fights path of least resistance

 

I personally would love to see Haye fight the "#3" ranked guy Adamek so he can put him out of his misery.


But my question is this. If you really want to bring some excitement, why would you not want to see a HW Title fight where the challenger actually has, and believes (along with his legion of fans) that he has a chance at actually winning?


Instead should we make him fight all these other guys, while Vitali fights Charr? The Champ has to fight someone. Why not fight the guy who might actually have a chance at winning?


One more thing. It's so silly to say "He fought a Klitschko" as if they are both the same fighter. They aren't and fans should stop treating them as if they are. They are different fighters with different strengths and weaknesses, and different belts.

 

I dont know what has happened with the boxing and apparently with hw division. I mean it is very rare when rising, young, undefeated prospects/contenders fight against each other and builds their resumes like they should and really earn their shot against the champ.

I know boxingscar you meant more like just interesting and good match ups for the fans but if they would force them guys to fight for getting rankings and title shots like in old days it definitely would create great match ups at process, I believe.

 

The simple fact is without going into any horse**** or excuses, just the bottom line....

There are a lot of interesting matchups at HW to be made to make the division exciting, fights that could actually be good.

Then, it all falls apart from there. For whatever reason these fights aren't being made, and in my opinion everybody is trying to take the easy road to a paper title. Its too bad really.

I dont know if the boxing Unions are so crooked today that promoters have them under their little finger and blatantly pay them for their "proteges" to climb up in the rankings wrongly. I think it might be something likes this and IMO if so that is really ruining the sport and especially the hw's...

Interim champs... stripped titles from true champs for giving them for these so called contenders who reall are just mere pretenders..
I mean this **** is hurting and killing the sport in eyes of true boxing fans.. It ruins the great matchs ups and kills the hype of those upcoming title challengers when we all know they really havent earn it.

 

simple: people don't wanna risk a loss that would keep them from a big Klitschko payday when they can just feast on cans and pad their record and as long as they keep on the winning they'll eventually get called for the Klitschko sweeptakes bonanza due to lack of decent opposition. It's bull**** and prevents legitimate contenders from emerging. If they fought each other, the dude that comes out on top would be a legit challenger not only by way of resume but by way of experience vs top level opposition that would have them much better prepared for a Klit fight and it would enhance the Klits legacies for beating these guys who've established themselves as ahead of the rest of the division aside from the Klits. They'd get far more props for beating a guy like say Helenius if Helenius just beat Fury/Haye/Povetkin then they would for beating Haye/Fury/Povtkin/Helenius all back to back without any of them previously fighting each other to eastablish a true #1 contender and show that they're worthy. As it stands right now the Klits cannot get a decent win under their belts cause no oens willing to prove they're a legit threat by beating the rest of the division.

 

Exactly. Why dosent Haye stay active? Why not go for ranked fighters?

 

Arreola seems keen on waiting out Vitali to retire and pick up the belt, Adamek wants Wlad or bust and Poventkin mand is Hasim. Haye wants a big money fight and the other contenders have no desire to risk their chances to get in on the Klitschko sweepstakes

 

Yes remember though Haye doesn't do this to please fans (contrary to what he's saying), he's in it for the money.

Haye would never fight an potentially exciting fight like vs. Arreola or Povetkin because those are somewhat risky but very low reward in financial terms. He'd rather stink out the joint versus Vitali but make millions in the process.
