If you mean famous for getting caught by a haymaker... Yeah.

For his accomplishments in the ring... NO.

Not a chance, his legacy will be a freakishly big guy for his weight who always gave value for money and was a world class fighter..

There is more than one way to enter the hall of fame. P Willie was a unique fighter and his legacy is worth preserving.

    What is his legacy?

Becoming WBO champ, losing it in his next fight, and the winning it back against the guy who beat him for it, and then ducking Quintana for the rubbermatch?

He faced a prime Margarito, prime Cintron, and most importantly prime Maravilla and won one against him. He then takes on fighters nobody wants to fight like Lara and Ishida AFTER getting brutally ko'd by Sergio like if nothing happened. That my friends is a true G. Canelo, Pacman, Mayweather my ass. Williams prime or past it wasn't ducking anyone and won some lost some. His victory over Sergio alone makes him HOF worthy. I don't give a **** he gets my vote.

If Glen Johnson doesn't get in, then Paul Williams isn't even close. And Paul was my favorite fighter too.

I'd like to say yes, and before the motercycle crash. He might have been on his way.
I think he had a good chance to surprise Alvarez. He'd have to rematch Lara. His status would depend largely on that result. If he were to beat Lara as well as Alvarez. He'd probbly get Trout. If he can beat Alvarez and Lara there's no reason he couldn't beat Trout. After that he'd get Mayweather. Mayweather would beat him. After that he'd probbly retire or move up to middleweight. That' a pretty solid run. WBC/WBA 154 champion. May or may not get him in the Hall of Fame, but it should get him on the ballot.

You are missing the point. Its not who he fought , its how he fought. His lenght and his punch output is noteworthy. He may not be in the great hall with the ATGs but he will be rconized as a unique fighter. :bbb:bbb

Too be honest there should be another wing to devote to warriors like Paul Williams.
(The Chico's, The Gatti's/Ward's, Campas ect...)

He's a member of the alltime very goods and mean that with respect. Guys who careers were either cut short or just almost made it. Like the Gatts and Williams
