I agree, even if Bute won Ward would have never fought him because Ward doesn't like to leave his home turf.

And they know Canada is where the money is, ask Hopkins :deal

ward doesn't have to fight bute until bute fights himself back into contention. until then, bute's a non issue. ward rightfully wanted bute to prove himself against an elite super middleweight, and bute failed the test in carl froch. get over it. before bute even thinks about ward, he has to try and avenge his devastating tko defeat to the guy ward already handily outclassed. get over it.

No it doesn't mean he would win for sure, but I'd bet a lot of money on Ward to win vs Bute. Ward would likely knock him out also, but much later in the fight than Froch did.

This is what we DID learn from that fight:

Ward is a much better boxer than Bute.
Ward has a much better chin than Bute.
Ward is the tougher, smarter fighter.

Styles do make fights. And I don't think Ward will KO Bute. But I must say for someone with pillows for fists, Ward did well to back Froch up with punches on a couple occasions. Bute hits harder than Ward, but couldn't back Froch up at all. Froch also hit Ward flush a few times and it didn't even phase him. The first time Froch landed solidly on Bute, He did a chicken dance.

Now I know the triangle theory doesn't work in boxing, but based on what we DO know, I have a had time picking against Ward if they were ever to meet.

Oh, and another thing. Even if Ward intended to fight Bute next, he wouldn't be able to fight him until late August/ early September anyway. In any case Bute PROBABLY still would've fought Froch. And he still would've gotten beat, badly. That leaves Ward dangling out in the middle of nowhere without a fight. He's much better off.

stylistically Bute is a way bigger problem for Ward but Bute would lose. I'd be rooting for Bute the whole way though, big Bute fan and I respect Ward but I'm not remotely a fan ofhis.

I still think Ward vs Bute is a 50/50 fight . Froch will get his ass outboxed into rematch by Bute .

Ward vs Dawson fight don't bring **** in terms of money and audience ! Boring snooze fest ! :yep:deal:good

The thought process that Ward outboxed Froch and Froch beat up Bute so Ward would beat Bute easily is plain old ESB ****** thinking.

As for him needing to prove himself, he was #2 in the division and P4P#9 going into the Froch fight yet instead of beating him to clean up the division he pulled a Bradley and remained inactive while someone else got the credit for beating him.

Now he's bringing a guy down a division that didn't bother avenging his last defeat to some guy Froch beat convincingly in good old Oakland!

I agree styles make fights and Ward might not beat Bute as emphatically but I've never had any doubt that Ward is streets ahead of Bute ability wise.
I could see Larouche pulling Bute out anytime after the 10th.
No slant on Bute.Ward is by far the best at 168 in the world and will be top 4 P4P in a year-18 months.
Nothing wrong with acknowledging Bute is #4 on the 168 list.He still beats most at the weight.

Levels. First time Bute stepped up he got stopped. Not on Wards level,Kessler or frochs either.
Or, if he is he hasnt proved it
