PC: Khan started fast and hit you with some good shots. Did your confidence go up when you felt you could take his punches and be ok? Danny : I knew he wasn't a big puncher. I said it all week because people were saying he hits hard & were asking how I was going to handle his power. I knew he had good speed but I knew I hit harder than him. I knew when I started landing shots,he wasn't going to be able to take them because he was using a lot of speed and that takes a lot of energy man. I can be that fast too, but I close my hands when I punch. A lot of people when they are fast like that when they let their hands go they leave them open. I knew that a big punch was gonna land. PC: You throw that look-away left hook a lot. When it landed he went down, did you think the fight would be over because he went down hard? Danny: I thought it was over because of the way he fell back. I hit him with a punch and he hit his head. But the left hook. I actually stood in the pocket and the way I throw my left hook, I turn my whole body with it. I saw him. I hit him with a little left hook and I can't of backed him off and he threw an uppercut from far out and that's when I just sat down.I turned my whole body. It looks like I'm turning away but I'm really not. I really know he's there, I'm just putting all of my power and force into it and that's why I lean all the way to the side like that. DC: Were you surprised at how brave he got once he hit the canvas, because I thought for sure once he got hurt he would hold for a few rounds? Danny: It surprised me because usually when he gets hurt, he starts running and makes you chase him, but I guess he really wanted to knock me out.He wanted to show the world and he wanted to knoock me out.... From the hype place of fights.
A lot of people focus on DG's physical abilities which, they are right, he doesn't possess anything super special. But his boxing IQ is being painfully overlooked. He impressed me when I heard him talking about his strategies before the Khan fight. What Garcia predicted actually became true. But it doesn't come without risks. Khan, even if he doesn't punch as hard as he thinks, still has the ability to cut Garcia's face or land a perfect body shot like the one Maidana received. Garcia is more poised and places his shots better than anyone Khan has faced. If you can weather Khan's early storm he'll give you many opportunities to bust him up as we saw in his respective fights with Maidana and Peterson.
That was what I have been saying. The science of boxing.Khan threw an uppercut from way out.Garcia also took one good look where khan is, then let a left hook fly, knew exactly where Khan was.He could of closed his eye it would have landed.Because Khan was committed with an uppercut it didn't land that well.LOL
Khan should have just stayed with his plan for atleast 6 rounds and wore him down.. Khan should not have thrown that uppercut Shitty uppercut thrown from a lazy crappy jab. Nacho needs to teach this guy combo's lol
Danny:" my whole game plan was to get beat up, have my dad panic then shutting my eyes and swinging wildly like some blind puerto ricon windmill while desperately praying to my loving god. Everything went according plan."
Lightening don't strike twice buddy, Garcia should enjoy this win, if he rematches Khan even he knows Khan won't let him land that big left, Khan beats him from the outside easy, Garcia is not a pressure fighter, Khan made mistake of over staying in pocket.
Weren't you the clown that said that Khan was winning the 4th round, a round in which he was knocked down twice? boxing: you don't know **** about it.
No, he'll kick his ass again regardless of how much Khan decides to run, and it will be twice as hilarious the second time around.
