    I just hope it's a gameplan that doesn't make this fight a stink-fest

    You meant Dawson.

    You meant Dawson.

Either way, I think you are both right. I expect Ward will do his absolute best to make it an inside fight.

Man if you think.dawson looked like crap against hopkins ur not into boxing. Dawson absulutly nullified everything Bhop was thinking before it was happening. People get butthurt cause some boxer are there to box and not slug. The more i read peeps comment tho I find a very low % realize how ****ing awesome Dawson is. The way he react to situation is simply amazing. Ward is gonna troubled by Dawson ability at this stage. Dawson will own this fight.

The question is if Ward's right hand can keep Chad honest. Adamek, Johnson I, Pascal, Hopkins II all got to Dawson with their right hands and all but Hopkins buzzed if not straight up hurt him with it. We know Ward is a converted southpaw with a relatively feathery right hand. Dawson isn't the most sturdy chinned guy, but will he walk through Ward's right hand to rip off combinations?

First off great fight. I think, Ward always has plan A. What ward always wants to do is fight the way he did vs Miranda, Kessler, Green. He will try an hit you and then get inside and rough you up. hes not one dimensional though if it always isnt working as he would like he adapts . boxes more counters more like he did vs froch. Abe made him switch it up alot to

Dawson gunna study Ward. and Dawson did a good job of studyin B hop and had alotta answers to B hop dirty tactics. thats because he prepped well for that fight. i thought he looked good. alotta people like to dog him saying he could barely beat a 50 year old . well b hops just different n nowone is gonna look spectacular vs him.

its like i dont wanna make a prediction because i really like chad. And ward isnt one of my favorites or anything but i know he is elite and seriously just amazing , an its hard to say there is any reason to pick agaisnt him. Dawson gives u a few reason hes agaisnt alot of odds. movin down in weight, he get lackadasical, punch out put isnt always there, slowstarter, cuts easy, going to oakland. but ima be going flippin wild like i did garcia/khan if dawson does it , but its more like i have trouble believing he can really do it.

Ward will start by staying out of range and leap in with potshots, then smother and get out. He'll do this to make the rangier Dawson come to him (he did this to Kessler in the early rounds).

Once he has Dawson moving forward and leading, he'll start rushing in and mugging him, then holding on. This will frustrate Dawson and make him tire even quicker than normal.

In the final half of the fight Ward will try to push Dawson onto the ropes ala Green and work him inside. Dawson will be gassed by the championship rounds.

DAWSON, on the other hand will be trying to time Ward on the way in, then turn him and get back to the outside.

I see Ward winning this one because he's much smarter and generally better conditioned. Dawson has some pop though, and he can definitely put Ward down with a counter and/or control the fight by punching and turning, just being patient and maintaining the outside.

Either guy could end up dominating the fight, or it could be a close two way affair. Dawson could stop Ward at any point with a solid counter and followup. Ward can stop Dawson by exhausting him on the inside, working the body, and finishing him on the ropes with an accumulation of punches late in the fight. Dawson would have to be absolutely exhausted for this to happen, which is why the inside mugging is going to be important for Ward.

He won't fight with one particular style, and his game plan will be similar to Pascal - use a lot of lateral movement, circling Dawson, and setting up angles to then come inside, and get off 3-4 punches. . Unlike Pascal, he might keep pressing the fight a little longer on the inside, but Dawson is no punk on the inside himself, so Ward will likely readjust, and step around, and back out. . Circling from the outside shooting jabs, and occasional lead straights. . . Maybe even use that lead left hook of is that is so accurate from the outside (but he has to be more careful because of Dawson's speed, and southpaw stance). . . Then once Dawson has gotten complacent, BOOM, inside he'll come again. . .

It's no cakewalk for Ward here, but I see a decently wide UD for Ward.

I agree with most opinions. I'm interested to see how ward deals with dawson's power if he tastes it. dawson has skills. he's easily the best opponent ward has faced if he comes in focused like he did against BHOP in their second fight. this is a great fight when you think about it. kind of reminds me of leonard vs. hearns in that two guys with serious skills are fighting one another in their respective primes, or close to their respective primes.

Chad will be drained and weak early... Andre jumps on him from the right side, away and skipping Cha's lazy jab and punching in between his arms, getting off first basically and always scoring out of clinches like he loves to do. I see a clinical dismantling and Chad in the same situation he was against Pascal going into the end stretch.
