Who finds it bemusing when people who don't box or only box amateur, call pros bums?

    I find it bemusing when people assume that amateur boxers are lesser boxers than pro boxers. Only the best of the best can win an olympic gold or world championship gold, any bum off the street can go and turn professional if they want. If you had actually boxed you'd also understand that the headgear doesn't do anything other than prevent cuts.
    If somebody calls a fighter like Tim Bradley a bum then regardless of who they are or their status then they're an idiot with an agenda, so why get upset over it?
    Fans can say what they want and have an opinion about any pro athlete in any sport, I don't understand why somebody would get upset about someone else's opinion. There are plenty of idiots in the world with emotional issues and no self awareness, if you don't understand and accept that then you're going to spend the majority of your life being bemused with an achy vagina. Real spit.

    thats like saying people who dont play basketball cant criticize basketball players. some of these boxers are bums. there's no other word to describe them. it's ridiculous that some boxers like arreola and solis can't even train properly. they come into the ring looking like big pun and them. its disrespectful to the fans and to themselves. ortiz quitting agaînst maidana was disgraceful. he's a coward. plain and simple.

    The problem with your point is that you are using the word "bum" in the context of a homeless person who takes showers in the sinks of public bathrooms.

    It's all semantics. A fighter who trains his ass off but just can't throw a straight punch or take a shot or keeps getting knocked out by body punches doesn't deserve to be called "a homeless person who takes showers in the sinks of public bathrooms" any more than he deserves to be called a "shitty fighter," which if you are taking the same context, means he needs a diaper change.

    "Bum" in boxing has it's own definition which has nothing to do with homeless people. It's a lazy way to say "a shitty fighter." Quit taking such offense.

    100% of the "bums" we are talking about would prolly still kick my ass. Bum isn't a nice word but most those bums come to fight and are doing what they can to provide for their families... or just making ends meet. Respect.

    You're allowed to criticize boxers the same way you're allowed to praise them. It's just like anything else in life. You don't have to do what they do in order to call like you see it. If a fighter is a bum he's a bum, if he's great he's great. It works both ways.

    Great point. If were not in a position to say theyre bad, how could we say theyre good? You never hear "You think Mayweather is a great boxer? Have you ever boxed? What do you know"

    You don't have to be anything to call someone a "bum". As fas as calling pro boxers "bums", I call Victoria a bum when he quit against Lopez. I can tell that you were one of those who's feelings were hurt when he was being called all kinds of names.

    It's just likebbiased commentary, there is nothing you can do about it except ignore it or change the channel.
